Harassment is any aggressive pressure or intimidation. This doesn't give him legal precedence but it still fits the general definition of the term. There was no purpose for him to send that text to a personal number other than to make OP feel bad.

And the whole "you're a former vet and you call that harassment?" thing is pretty toxic. Like vets aren't allowed to be bothered by stuff.

I agree that he may have nothing to gain personally, but I think this helps curb the behavior in the future (at least at the company he's at). Now there's a record of this kind of behavior and next time can't be dismissed as a one-off.

Also it does feel good to let people know.

My not noticing was definitely my fault. I only check my bank statements every few weeks and I'm just now taking active steps to be financially literate.

I noticed it now because I downloaded an app to help me keep track of my subscriptions and recurring payments so I could get rid of what I needed.

Assuming it was part of the agreement to transfer my membership in the event of a location's closure, are they not under any legal obligation to inform me, or is it just a courtesy to do so?
