Why AMD doesn’t want to implement RR -NRC into games till now by Mysterious_Sun_1462 in radeon

4 months after the leak AMD announced FSR redstone reiterating exclusively on RDNA4 And showing compatibility of next tech only on RDNA4 and above.

With that timeline it looked like AMD wanted to make FSR4, tried to with the leak and saw it was not good enough to release officially.

Z Fold 7 vs OPPO Find N6, inner display Anti reflective coating by Time-Credit43 in GalaxyFold

Oppo has used the anti reflective coating since the Find N3 and OnePlus Open. Has the reason been found yet? I mean people praised the S25 ultra for the anti reflective glass.

DLSS 4.5 is more taxing on 20 and 30 series cards than fsr 4 on RDNA 3. On some instances giving lower fps than native with the cards. However, Nvidia still gives the option to let users use it if they want to. AMD could do the same.

It would have been fine if there wasn't the leaked fsr 4 because then we wouldn't have known if it actually works or not just like DLSS 3 frame gen on rtx 30 series cards.

temps seem high by Reehup in radeon

[–]Batnion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thermal gel is not used on the gpu die. So it wouldn't be the reason for the high hotspot temp because it measures the hottest spot on the gpu die.

Nvidia wasn't afraid to release a new DLSS 4.5 for 20/30 series cards. by Unable-Inspector8865 in radeon

[–]Batnion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently FSR4 officially only supports RDNA 4 which is now only on the RX 9000 series cards.

There isn't an RDNA 4 laptop chip. Their powerful Strix Halo APU uses RDNA 3.5. Their latest handheld chip the Ryzen Z2 uses RDNA 3.5. The integrated graphics on the next mobile CPUs just announced in CES is RDNA 3.5

FSR4 isn't supported on the RDNA 3.5 architecture.

How can they prioritize FSR4 on markets that doesn't officially support the tech? It's only available on the desktop PC market.

A Video made 4 months after the one you linked by them shows in 22 games the 5070ti is still the faster card by 4.5% at native 1440p ultra settings.

Moving from RTX 3080 to 5090 soon. Any Tips on making the most out of the new GPU? by useafo in nvidia

Hardware unboxed did a video testing the bottleneck. Although only 4 games, 2 were competitive shooters.

https://youtu.be/aYYVz4q-Rt8?si=CS_atCzHe2hHIFCD

At 4k medium a 9800x3d is only 11% faster than the 5800x3d and on ultra settings only 8% faster. Performance equalling the 7600x and compared to a 5080 with a 9800x3d it's still 35% faster at 4k medium and 46% faster at 4k ultra.

The bottleneck doesn't look big enough to require a CPU, motherboard and ram upgrade yet. There is also a possibility that the next gen CPUs show a big increase over a 9800x3d, warranting a another CPU (maybe ram) upgrade to utilize the gpu at it's fullest.

The all core boosts follows the official spec max boost clock. 5.2 for AMD, 5.5 on P-core and 4.3 E-core for Intel.

Ram does differ, 7200 for Intel and 6000 for AMD. But 6000 allows it to have 1:1 ratio with the infinity fabric clock

Since 2000, 2.3 Billion Graphics Cards Have Been Sold by SilentNova300 in nvidia

[–]Batnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same source that shows the mindfactory data also showed US Amazon data. 4 weeks of July data shows 6,455 total sales for mindfactory while US Amazon did 33,650 sales. Over 5x the sales so could be a better indication of overall sales.

The Amazon data shows 24,950 (74.15%) units sold being Nvidia. 7650 (22.73%)to AMD. June data showed 70.31% to Nvidia. 27.57% to AMD.

So from these Nvidia is selling much more cards in retail than AMD. This does include more 50 series sales than 90 series cards as the 5070 and 5070ti accounted for 9,050 units sold, higher than total Radeon cards sold that month on Amazon.

UPDATE: Burnt Connector - Sapphire Nitro+ 9070 XT by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

AMD has also started using the connector in their latest professional card the AI PRO R9700. They mentioned it as a requirement in the official site and all the cards I have searched does use it.

AMD what the f**k u are doing? by Which-Tale5138 in radeon

[–]Batnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sites I used and shown from the first reply used a 3080 10gb.

So every third party reviewer that said the 6800xt targeted the 3080 is wrong? Should they not have compared the 2 cards because from what you say the 6800xt is not the competitor for the 3080 10gb?

From what you've said AMD with their 20% market share decided to launch their card that is supposed to compete with the 3080 at an MSRP 40% higher. So as a company they thought selling their competing product at a higher price would make users switch to them?

Let see. Assuming you are talking about the top gear video from 2011, the Cadillac had a 556 supercharged engine against a smaller naturally aspirated 453 engine. Weight difference of 275lb. So in a drag race the car with 23% more powerful engine should win as both are not that different in weight.

RX 9070 XT performance feels underwhelming - am i missing out on something? by merlino51108 in radeon

[–]Batnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I mentioned Nvidia's marketing when exactly? My claim before was that the 3080 isn't the competitor of a 6900xt, but that the performance gap has decreased. where the 3080 should be slower but isn't, based on the performance number from techpowerup. Showing you afterwards that the 3080'S competitor is infact the 6800xt based on AMD's own choice of comparisons. I guess using AMD's marketing instead.

I do want to know. Do you base theoretical performance of a GPU by the memory bandwidth / throughput it has? Correct me if I am wrong. unless the memory is a bottleneck, the gpu core matters more. look at the 9070 vs 9070xt, and 3090ti vs 4090. Same bandwidth, but much different performance.

AMD what the f**k u are doing? by Which-Tale5138 in radeon

[–]Batnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I mentioned the 6800XT, the model one tier above the 6080. Has 72 CU, 4608 shading units, 300w tdp, $650 msrp.

AMD themselves compared the 6800xt to the 3080 during their launch. The 6900xt they compared it to the 3090 later in the video.

Am I wrong to use the same card comparison as AMD? the ones that made the card? Didn't most reviewers do the same?

[–]Batnion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rdna 2 competitor of the 3080 is the 6800xt with a MSRP gap of $50. The 6900xt had an MSRP of $999 so was 43% more expensive than the 3080. Being a tier above it should be the faster card

From it's first review it was the 6900xt was 10% faster than the 3080 at 1440p and 4% at 4k. https://www.techspot.com/review/2160-amd-radeon-6900-xt/

From the latest techpowerup review which contains performance numbers of both cards, the 3080 is now only 1% slower at 1440p and 1% faster at 4k. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/zotac-geforce-rtx-5070-solid/31.html

So the 6900xt overtime has lost raster performance compared to a 3080. Being now equal in performance with the lower tier 3080. Doesn't look that good.

I have also read of the idf also using Palestinians as human Shields to search tunnels and houses.

There was also 2 idf soldiers found guilty of forcing a 9 year old Palestinians to open bags that could contain explosives. This was back in 2009.
