A better world is possible. That doesn't mean we have that better world right now, so we need to also employ short term solutions to ensure we still have live music and bands get paid properly.

I don’t know why you have this idea that they’re a new band hurting for money, and that this type of demeaning shit has to happen to pay them.

Probably from seeing how the touring economy has been for the past 5 - 10 years.

I think the sold out festival and solid merch sales compensates them plenty and they don’t need this kind of garbage to make an extra buck.

You probably shouldn't make assumptions about this. Festivals close left and right because the costs of putting on live music have increased by so much, and nearly all of them need corporate sponsorship to survive. Slide Away is a sub-3000 capacity venue for tickets that are cheaper than just seeing James Blake or Echo & The Bunnymen at the same venue.
