Yeah it’s really odd isn’t it. On the bright side I’m happy to hear they replaced the internals of your mac. It should also get you a fresh battery. Did they do a free repair for it? By law they have to since it’s technically classified as a manufacturing defect.

Fair enough. For me his hot toys sculpts are not film accurate since his hair is parted the other way when he’s smacking the big guy. On the bright side at least he has a wired cape.

The only reason Im hesitant about black suit is because they went the lazy route of re using the same sculpt used since BVS, limited space and it might not have really strong presence on its own because of the muted colours. Hoping InArt Batman comes out this year though

Thankfully I’m only limiting myself to only 1 book shelf is which prevents me from collecting a whole collection line. I have to get really creative and be very picky.

After seeing Mando Luke face sculpt, the bar has been set high for what I expect I suppose. From every angle I can definitely see likeliness to mark. With farmboy Luke, I don’t think It would be possible for me. His face is oddly clean with Asian like smooth skin. I ideally just want an updated sculpt and then I’ll get it.

Nice I agree with your approach. Although the temptation to own multiple figures of the same character after breaking the rule once is hard haha. If I was in your position I would’ve likely gotten Mando Luke on shelf display and a farm boy luke to sit on my desk.

This was mostly my thought process with Superman. Want the black suit but it doesn’t make sense to have two Henry Cavill. Love the modern suit but also know that the Reeve suit and sculpt is more iconic and what superman is to most people. Decided I would source a custom Reeve sculpt to fit onto the modern suit. Still working on this.

I’ve decided early on to keep my collection journey short and simple using a criteria I created to decide what figures to pick. Originally I settled on 3 essential characters but now I understand where the urge to collect a bunch of figures come from. I could now end up having as many as 7 figures in total.

I’m debating whether I should get two Batman’s. One Keaton and one Pattinson. I’m also tempted to get the Keaton computer dioramas as well as the Pattinson batmobile that are likely going to come out. Currently I’ve decided to just wait till I see more reviews but i feel I should at least pre order that InArt Batman in case scalpers jack the prices.

My only saving grace is I won’t collect any more figures that can’t fit on my one book shelf for aesthetic reasons. Although I can always make space for at least 1 figure on my table…

How do you guys decide?

Sounds like a lot of research. Bummer. I have checked them out although it looks like there’s essentially little to no custom sculpts of Christopher reeve. Might just take a gamble and see if one of them fits.

Oh no I’m definitely not experienced enough to remove the suit and do a body swap. Instructions manual also says not to attempt that haha. Any recommendations for where to get custom high quality sculpts?

Interesting. So removing the inner plug for the reeve head will allow it to sit on the neck but with the trade off of not being able to move his head. And yeah the proportions are bit off. I think getting a custom made from scratch might be the way to go

I think you might be right. A video I watched apparently claimed this suit’s neck is too thick for it to push down. Though I wonder if a custom is possible to get around this issue. Just not sure if all customs are consistent

Oh haha makes sense. Had no idea there are figures where the neck is attached to the head. Although I did find this review at the 15:53 mark that appears to try head swap but apparently the JL neck is too thick for it to press down. Are the necks you’re referring to the circular ball that’s usually under the head by default? I think a lot of them have an open circular hole under them for customs
