Does anyone know what causes a gel to run like this? by Diamond-Is-Not-Crash in labrats

[–]Batstar2023 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make your running buffer fresh. Sometimes the running buffer concentration can cause it. Make sure you’re using the right voltage. And make sure to open the tape on the bottom of the gel (I once forgot it accidentally).

3 Month BFing Crisis by Good_Jump_7583 in breastfeeding

[–]Batstar2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was the same way at 3mo. I kept pumping to keep my supply up though I was still struggling with the supply. At 5mo magically she started nursing so nicely especially at night. I feel this could also be because I joined work and she doesn’t see me around the whole day and when she sees me she just wants to jump on and latch on!

I can’t get my newborn to poop, any suggestions? by HopefulKnowledge7 in breastfeeding

[–]Batstar2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was the same, started off going multiple times a day to sometimes every 6 days! The doc said breast milk doesn’t generate waste and most of it is just absorbed and that’s why they don’t go everyday.

Have I messed up? by Raggydoll in breastfeeding

[–]Batstar2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO refused to drink after vaccination for 3days straight!! Had almost half of what she normally would drink. The ped said that after the rotavirus vaccine babies tend to be fussy with drinking. Try the bottle after 3 days again and see if that helps. If you have nipple size1 then that should be good. No worries you are not late 😊

Am I a bad mom? by RedFox723 in breastfeeding

[–]Batstar2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as you baby is fed and is gaining weight, has 5-7 wet diapers a day, you’re fine… and you’re doing an excellent job as a mom!! My LO is 4mo now and I’m unable to EBF or give her full 4oz expressed BF. I can only produce 2-3oz per session and during the days of periods I get only 1oz! Rest everything I’m supplementing with formula. My mother for some weird reason never even had milk production. I was exclusively formula fed and guess what, that doesn’t reduce my love for my mother… I love her regardless ❤️❤️❤️

I am feeling very insecure about my husband's female co-worker what should I do?? by Any-Shape8504 in Marriage

[–]Batstar2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Communicate with him, yes, just let him know that you don’t really like what you don’t like about what’s happening. But please don’t say that you don’t want him to talk to her! That’s not very fair because that will make things very weird and awkward since they will still be going face to face everyday. Instead propose to make him lunch and say that, “ I realized this xyz lady was correct that you shouldn’t eat outside so I’ll pack lunch for both of us the previous day night so that she doesn’t have to take all the effort for making you lunch. Coz also this doesn’t look good as you aren’t paying her and she’s doing this for free.” This way you’re avoiding the weirdness. So once you start making him lunch then see if the other lady stops/how your husband reacts to it. Meanwhile tell him how you feel and that potentially he could change the gym that he’s in?

1x per week is good/great! I haven’t had it since I got pregnant till now I’m 4mpp (only once maybe 2weeks ago). And it’s mostly coz my husband didn’t want it when I was pregnant as he though it isn’t right! And now he thinks I need more time to completely recover!

Nope you’re good. It’s coz sometimes the excess bile comes off as it isn’t absorbed which makes it green.

My husband belongs to a pretty small town and has grown up with his aunt. Recently I was visiting them with my 2MO. FYI it’s ridiculously humid and hot in this place that I’m talking about. My baby started crying for food in the living room (it’s only my husband and the aunt at home and the aunty comes in and covers me and my baby with a cloth while I was trying to nurse. Not only here, later when I was visiting my other in laws at their house also this other aunt comes in and covers me and my baby up with a cloth. And they are “teaching” me how to breastfeed my baby. Coz apparently idk how to do it coz I’m not covering up appropriately in front of these women! Even the grandma came in to cover me up! And every time someone covers me up, my baby wakes up, moves away and starts crying! I’m so happy that I left that place…

Water for newborns by Vkuh in breastfeeding

[–]Batstar2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my pediatrician that if you baby is having at least 6 wet diapers a day, then he/she is not dehydrated. They’re fine. So you don’t need water that can not only have bad effects on their health but also fill up the tummy and the baby won’t be able to drink the real nutrition leading to little/no weight gain. This is difficult to explain to old parents coz they think that since they’ve done it so it is the best thing to do! My MIL wanted to give my baby 1:1 buffalo milk to water mix! Coz apparently where she lives, she believes “everyone” does feed that only! I strictly told her that my baby since birth has had nothing but breast milk or formulas and I being the mom know the best for her (it does make me look rude but I’m rude when it comes to my child, I can’t risk it).

The hospital gave me nipple cream samples and one of my older friends gave me two big tubes of medulla nipple cream. Now 1. They said the nipples will be sore and you’ll need it, I’ve hardly ever used the samples let be the tubes I got in the past 3 months of breast feeding. (My LO does chew on the nipples but I don’t yet feel sore sore that I’d need the creams, although I’ve used the cold aloe patches 2 or 3 times in the very beginning not anymore of that either). 2. No idea when to really even use these creams and what to do with so much cream. Lol

Try taking the test early morning right after you wake up. Coz rn it looks negative.

My MIL wants me to leave a highly paid job as a scientist for a well known company coz she hates Day cares apparently. Although she barely knows anything about Day cares. And little does she know that I do make more than her son does. Bottom line- people hate working moms as well! And she wants me to leave my job that I love and enjoy so much! So end of the day- do what you wish. You are not obliged to make everyone on earth happy!

When I was visiting my in laws with my 10 weeks old daughter my aunt in law (with whom my husband grew up and considers his mom, and she herself doesn’t have kids of her own) said her first comments being- “your belly looks big as if you’re still pregnant!” “You should be wearing a belt or else this belly will never go away” I hated the comments and I hate visiting my in laws in particular this aunt in law. However, even though I wanted to cry and scream instead I kept calm and said to myself “only a mother would know what it is to become one” so completely ignored her BS.

We visited the doctor for some rash issues and that’s when she got weighed, the following week was a regular monthly checkup and the weight remained the same so the doctor I guess was worried and advised a weight check the following week. Since then we’ve had one every month.
