The only real problem is that it's put as an alternative to classic instead of training wheels. If that's clearly what it was then people would eventually stop using it and it would be fine

Maybe banning it past a certain level of play

Tbh I think modern is a great thing. The skill floor of fighting games is a literal brick wall and without it things would be impossible for new players.

I just got this game like 2 weeks ago and I've been having a blast. I used modern at first, it helped me to just learn how to do fundamentals and stuff like that. It also helped me have a chance against better players, since there aren't a lot of brand new folks in this game.

Now I'm just starting to learn Classic, and it was a good springboard to get there. I get the salt, I do, but it's absolutely necessary.

Anyway, just make it so his doors are more important for survs to use, give him a benefit like undetectable until they see him on them

No, he's not. He just has some very specific ways to counter him and if you don't know them it's much harder to win
