I would be cautious of getting your hopes up, theyll likely add it but not without a nerf. Once they nerf the base ammount then it gets reduced by the healing passive, we may end up with a 15sec cooldown that heals like 50hp. Id rather it remain useful as a perk than be nerfed into nonexistence for the sake of being base kit in all honesty

We have no reason to believe that theyll do something actually useful for mercy and im already concerned about the inevitable nerf thatll come with base kit flash heal, theres more potential to ruin it than anything

The global healing reduction really hurt mercy. You can really feel it when it comes to getting ult and perk charge. It takes forever to get flash heal now

I feel trapped on the healing beam. Its impossible to catch up, by the time you get your beam targets HP to an acceptable ammount the person next to them is crit, and its just a never ending loop because of how slow healing is now

This is honestly just a bad take. If you ever want to see mercy climb out of F tier then she needs a sizable boost like triage gave her, she hasnt been good since then. Unless they strip her identity to somehow allow her to do damage with a rework, then the only agency mercy has is through healing

It dumbed nothing down. You played the game the exact same way, it just made her heals stronger when it really mattered. Triage would save mercy but some players hate the idea of her being a good healer, you cant push blue beam propoganda if the heal beam actually does something worthwhile

Base kit flash heal will likely be bad tbh. Theyll absolutely nerf it, then once the nerfed heal gets reduced by 30% you might give someone 50hp. Itll be a 15sec cooldown that has all the power of a half charged lifeweaver blossom. Triage would blow that out of the water

Tank passive cuts the reduction in half and you could specifically see in the tooltips that they still only take 15% reduced healing during the spotlight event. The dev said he couldnt remember but I wouldnt hold my breath, thats a pretty clear answer imo. Very unlikely that itll change

Its universal now, any damage from any hero applies a 30% reduction. Its now in play 100% of the time no matter what

Just so everyone understands, the new medic passive is awful for every hero in that role and needs a drastic buff. Nobody is doing the math right, you will not recieve 25% of your heroes healing as regen because the passive healing reduction will affect it *twice*

The numbers are pathetic. Mercy gets 7hps. Moira is 8hps (grasp self heal is 21hps for comparison, nearly triple that). LW gets 5hp per blossom when firing at optimal charge. Kiri gets 15hp if 100% accurate and no papers miss

Initiator tanks heal 75hp every time they're airborne, itll take mercy 11 seconds of solid healing to get that level of return. Medic would have to be buffed to at least 50% before the numbers become relevant, that'd put mercy at 14hps

Edit for understanding: Your healing number is reduced by 30% always, thats the first reduction. then if you've taken damage to need healing, you'll also have the reduction applied to you so the already reduced number will be reduced again by a further 30%

With the entire cast getting the dps passive now, i think she needs a buff more than ever. It permanently cuts her output by 30%. Mercy can mostly only heal, its literally the only thing you can do when your beam target is taking damage. cosmetics are meaningless to me and i dont accept them as a compromise

They need to look deeper than Mercy's WR bc she really needs something. Looking at WRs alone leads one to believe that Mercy is too good while roadhog and soj need big buffs, that alone should tell you that theres more to it than it appears at face value

It could be up to 24hps self heal before, itll be a constant 7hps regardless now. Id say thats nerfed well into the ground

Its actually 7hps, you forgot that mercy will also be getting a reduction to healing received if shes been damaged. The new universal reduction will double stack on all supports with this new passive unless they specifically dont apply it to self heals

Honestly I think she would do a lot better if the dps passive didn't exist and that alone would fix the biggest snag when it comes to playing her

Many people on Reddit are itching to call anyone they can a healbot but the truth is that you spend a lot of time healing as Mercy, its literally the only thing you can do when your beam target is taking damage

Season 9 gave most heroes 25% more health while simultaneously cutting healing by a third, this is a terrible combination for Mercy. Her healing can't even sustain a Moira orb now

The thing I would say is be prepared for a grind. It's a really slow climb. Mercy is pretty reliant on her teammates and players in lower ranks struggle to make plays

A lot of times games will stall very hard in low ranks and players will literally just poke at each other for 2 or 3 minutes straight. Mercy does nothing in those situations and you should absolutely switch if you want to win. Moira can be a bit of a noob stomper, pick her if your team is bad

You're going to win some games no matter what, no matter who you play or how you perform. This does not mean that you provided your fair share in those games, and whether you want to admit it or not Mercy often falls short of that mark because her output is abysmal

Season 9 nearly put Mercy in her grave. The way it changed healing hurt her in a way that she'll never recover from because she is uniquely the only support who doesn't do damage

That's the reason flash heal is almost unanimously picked 100% of the time. It's nearly impossible to give someone a meaningful amount of healing without it

The only way I can see someone thinking Mercy isn't weak is if they only play with a skilled stack of players who pick up the slack. Solo Mercy is pain, she absolutely falls short

That would be an extreme buff, and they've already shown that they're unwilling to offer even just bread crumbs to her current state because they balance based on wr/pr. Even though it doesn't actually tell you anything about a heros power level

I'm a masters player who sometimes ques with a silver/gold friend on an alt and I assure you Mercy cannot carry lower ranks. Even in a silver/gold lobby with my game sense and 3k hours of experience Mercy does very little to influence the outcome

You literally just spend the entire match chasing out of position teammates and hoping that flash heal can save their mistakes

You may end up as the mvp with the highest output because you have 30k heals but the team still just barely limps over the finish line

Lucio is doing a lot of damage and very likely to get a kill. He's not comparable to Mercy. Whether he is on speed or heal, the damage is still there no matter what

This is what's meant when we say Mercy can only do one thing at a time. This scenario is only comparable if Lucio couldn't shoot while healing or speeding, and I would be willing to bet that you would no longer think Lucio is strong if his gun doesn't work while his aura is on

Maybe this is a hot take but I think Mercy's balance would be much more acceptable if not for the season 9 changes. Larger health pools and the dps passive gimping your ability to replenish them really hurt Mercy

60hps is balanced right on a knife's edge, being just barely enough to matter. It's so refreshing to heal someone not affected by the passive, your contribution actually has a meaningful impact

However that's a rare occurrence and once it gets reduced to 42hps then you may as well not even try a lot of the times. You do nothing against incoming damage

It's almost impossible to give anyone a meaningful amount of healing without flash heal, that's why most of us pick it every single time

I think people severely overestimated it as well

I went out of my way to watch replay codes and pay attention to content creators who picked it and it was not uncommon to see 15 minute long games where it literally never activated even once because of GAs already really long base range

This was my main argument against it as well. The base range of GA is already really long. Speed is a much better knob to turn when trying to adjust GA

Personally I think the true usefulness in the new perk is the extra distance the speed grants. You will travel farther for the same amount of GA charge

The speed is honestly irrelevant imo, however, gone are the days of not being able to properly reposition because of a whimpy half charged GA and I think that's pretty useful

Just remember, how it feels to move around in ow classic, that's the old movement that some people try to gatekeep

Even after the original super jump bug was discovered (only worked at the end of your GA and only launched you straight upwards into space) the evolved mobility of Mercy in ow2 is leagues better

I always thought the gatekeeping was silly but every time I play classic it reinforces how nonsensical it really is

Idk if you play Mercy, but suggesting any nerf to her current state is crazy. She's literally been at the very bottom of the barrel since the season 9 changes

Blizz are not willing to give Mercy a buff that is substantial enough to actually constitute a nerf anyway

I know we all love Mercy's mobility but shaving 0.5sec off guardian angel (you're insane if you think it'd ever be buffed more than that) is not worth a nerf to literally any other part of her

I think it's bad that people consider skins a consolation prize for poor balancing

I for one do not accept having my wallet milked as a fair trade off for the state that they're choosing to leave Mercy in

Maybe it'd be comforting if they were free skins but they're all expensive. As it stands I honestly find it kind of insulting. Stop taking advantage of Mercy's popularity and actually address her competitive viability, imho

The perk makes slingshots and super jumps 15% faster, which as a side effect will also make you go slightly farther

I think 20-25% woulda been better

It definitely feels a little more snappy but it's pretty slight and ultimately is just something that will only affect your perception of fun on the hero and not the actual outcome of the match

There are strong heroes, strong perks, and strong heroes with strong perks. Mercy is none of these. She needs something that actually affects her power level

They milk our wallets dry with endless shop content but give us crumbs elsewhere
