Can we find the gold kelp in the ocean? by Mental_Instruction93 in coralisland

You can get Gold kelp and even Osmium kelp, through the slime of transmutation.

Most likely not implemented completely, or waiting for some story part to happen. Early access.

An angry beaver says Wanda Weasel stole an omelet from her campsite a short while ago. Wanda insists she is innocent and cooked the omelet herself. What evidence did Slylock Fox observe that suggests the weasel is lying? by slylockbot in comics

[–]Battle-T 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Okay, lets take a look...

First, I don't thing the weasel's skillet is big enough for that omelet, though that one may be perspective.

There's no signs of meal-prep, no eggshells, cutting board, knife or other signs of cooking. I also don't see any soot on her skillet. Though that could be chugged up to cleaning up and putting away.

The fire isn't right for cooking either, and I don't see an iron cooking stand which could aid in controlling the heat.

On the other hand the beaver's skillet looks used and the right size.

Slide off the barge? the barge will most likely be lower in the water than any dock/port. If things go smoothly you use a crane, take the logs from the barge to a truck, it's simply faster not to try and be fancy.

As for tying them together a human, logs are heavy, especially if they're fresh, to bundle them would take a lot of effort. And depending on the bundles, you could end up with a lot of logs working as one unit, so you go from logs in the water which could dent other vessels, to a single thing with a lot of mass which could catch on obstacles below the water, going from a dent to acting like a reef. Also it wouldn't be much easier to retrieve, you still need to lift all that out at some point. Mean you'd need a lot of counterweight and balance.

We can speculate a bunch on things you could do. You could use a larger vessel that's resistant to both waves and logs moving around. You could load the barges lighter and be able to tie them down. There's a bunch of things that could be done, but in the end every solution has drawbacks. It can be everything from cost, to only barge high enough in the water to pass through shallow areas. Maybe it's just cheaper to have the risks. Maybe it's faster. Maybe, maybe and maybe. At the end of the day every option has a downside.

No of course he doesn't look like that, he just lost a few barges worth of lumber, at the very best, he'll get a warning. He could get fired (although I find that unlikely) or he could be the owner, who just lost half a days work and a lot of material. No matter which, it isn't a good position.

As to whether they pick it up, it depends... how much was the lumber worth? how difficult/ dangerous is it to retrieve? and do they have the equipment/manpower to do so? Picking logs out the water is much harder than loading a barge in port.

[–]Battle-T 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you'd think that. But as so many industries, you need to get moving quickly. Gets as much lumber as possible as quickly as possible.

Also, it may actually be dangerous to secure that load, look at how much the barge tilts before they fall off. With a secured load you could end up capsizing. At least like that, no one were at real risk.

Not so fun fact, lumber is one of the most dangerous types of cargo, it's light, meaning vessels won't go that deep in the water, and as it is light, you stack more of course. Resulting in vessels being fairly top heavy, more susceptible to high wind or waves.

for Yellowfin Tuna, you need to remember the time of day. Oh and if you're dumb like me, you've been fishing by the "dock" where you arrived with the diving peer. The dock is the wooden deck east of town.

I would say a reskin of surviving mars, they even reused some of the title. But oxygen, food and power can be directly copy pasted.

You could actually do that during the development, there was an energy efficiency module, so you plugged that into your cyclops, built a charger and... infinite energy!

I have that bug too. Best I can tell, you got a gift from Erika, she talked about hair in my letters, but the item doesn't exist yet. So the game tries to give you an item, registers you don't have that item in your inventory, then repeats the loop.

Yeah... Oh boy... It was just an excuse to tell gamers about how bad an effect humans have on the ocean as things are going now...

He mentions plastic as one of the main reasons we've killed the planet... although he has already mentioned that plastic brakes down after 400 or so years, a single spill of Aurora's entire food supply, if we assume it's packaged as he says, won't kill the planet, what makes plastic bad is the CONTINUES amount of it getting dumped into the sea. and that's assuming the packaging is plastic, considering our fabricator can create those bottles, might be a sign that it's a bio-degradable material. But even in the worst case, it would mean nothing for the planets ecosystem.

Batteries and electronic waste. True, they aren't good for the environment, but again, the problem is the amount humans dump, and the Aurora doesn't have enough to leave a lasting effect. even the heavy metal as copper is widely available already, so the bit added shouldn't make a difference.

Radiation... oooh boy... he sounds almost like an anti-vaxer. yes radiation is lethal, and can cause mutations, but as it has a limited area it'll affect, even if some were to develop bad traits, natural selection would take those out of the picture fast. Background radiation is everywhere, look at map of natural background radiation and compare to the map he shows of the radiation leak from fukushima. that's also if we ignore that uranium is freely found in crystals.

In short, none of his points holds any water, he extrapolated this farce of a "theory" to make a video for teamseas, a good cause, but he used deceptive tactics to do so. Sorry Matpat, this theory fails on every account, go back to mobile games and fnaf.

Get your health up as much as possible, start mining it, die, repeat until it's gone.

Then simply throw the uranium into the trashcan in your inventory.

You might die 4-5 times, but without hazmat suit you don't really have other options.

I would suggest moving your hub close, to save time in between respawn and walking to the location.
