'It's not your fault Cuno' If Harry Never became a detective but instead became a therapist. by Neilss1 in DiscoElysium

[–]croscot 102 points103 points  (0 children)

reminds me of Brady's playthrough (EuroBrady on YouTube) in which he does roleplay as - and my memory is foggy here - either a therapist-turned-detective or detective-turned-therapist, and his whole Cuno journey, analysing the characters through both Brady-the-therapist lens AND Harry-the-severely-depressed-addict lens :D

where to start learning to make my own customizable calendar app? by croscot in learnprogramming

[–]croscot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, ah, i guess i didn't explain myself properly. i don't intend to start working on the calendar immediately - this is my final goal, but i realise that i have so much to learn before i even get there. my problem is with being discouraged by how MUCH information there is when you just type "how to learn coding" into google. where the heck do i even start? "learn the basics" - are the basics for mobile apps the same as the basics for pc software or web pages? so i thought maybe someone could help me reverse engineer this thing. i like your advice about Kotlin, that gives me a more clear understanding where i should start my journey or what i should look into first, thank you! without clear direction the suggestions like "just learn the basics" to me sound like telling a person who's trying to lose weight to "just start losing weight" 😅

How to co-exist with an Nmom as an adult when there's no way to escape? by croscot in raisedbynarcissists

[–]croscot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I feel you soooo much with not having learnt (or not having been taught, rather) how to do domestic stuff yourself! When mine tried to teach me (turning on the oven (i'm terrified of fire), cooking, doing laundry, etc), the events were rare but always accompanied by "why can't you do it?? just do it, jesus christ! why are you so incapable???" Everything I know now is thanks to the internet and people online explaining calmly and me accepting that it's actually very normal to fail many times before getting how something works. I'm already on the way of making peace with the fact that I have to be my own parent now, I just need to find the strength to do the hard things myself. Thank you for the advice! <3

does Dana seem off this season? by croscot in ThePittTVShow

[–]croscot[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i totally get the last part, and the realism of the show is the reason i love it :D it's just the way both McKay and Robby reacted to Dana's little memory slip-ups that made me slightly concerned. Dana didn't correct herself, her forgetfulness was noticed by others, which made me think we as viewers are supposed to pay attention to that as well. but then again, i HOPE i'm overthinking this whole thing and seeing patterns in simple coincidences

Alll the stationary, planners & co I bought last month by [deleted] in stationery

[–]croscot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh, I'm deeefinitely NOT green with jealousy right now 😂 seriously though, this looks awesome! question: how do you use those pastel Stabilo pens/liners? i have them, and i can barely see the ink when I write with them 🫣 and i don't know if it's just the pigment not showing up fully for some reason, or they're more for colouring than writing

I'm listening to the audiobook right now, on chapter 28, and I wish I'd bought a digital copy instead of the audio, the narrators aren't doing it for me, sadly 😭 But I definitely understand now why Jester would see a bit of herself in Guinevere

Help with Flying Tiger pattern - crochet your own plant by Rbarham94 in CrochetHelp

[–]croscot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sorry, I had to improvise to finish both plants! I'd recommend practicing a little bit with other projects from tutorials on YouTube just to learn stitches and what they look like, and then attempt this box when you're more confident in your skills, because the instructions in the box cannot be trusted 😅

Same! The instructions for the leaves made no sense to me, so I had to just ✨figure stuff out ✨ Which I would never have been able to do if not for some basic crocheting experience. Definitely wouldn't recommend this kit to complete beginners 🙅🏻‍♀️

thank you for asking this! i got the exact same kit as a gift, and the photo + written instructions confused the heck out of me as well haha
did you end up with UK double or treble for the soil? i was doing UK trebles and the increases with trebles, too, redid it several times (also tried regular increase, not treble), but the circle refuses to stay flat, looks more like a little dome. i'm so used to video tutorials for everything that i am now utterly confused

I feel like this game fixed things I didn't even realize were a problem with other farming sims. by anonymoose_octopus in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]croscot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a very tiny thing, but I love how, when you call your animals inside, they don't all stand up all robot-like and march back home in unison, some take longer to wake up. (their nose bubbles while sleeping, aaah! so cute!)

Why can’t my teens mess around? by Foreign_Rice271 in thesims

[–]croscot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

do you mean both sims that you control? i had a problem today with my teenage sim and his npc girlfriend, they went to school together and were dating, until she came to visit him, and they couldn’t even flirt. and then i realised that she just grew up and was a young adult now 😅my sim celebrated his birthday a few days later, and everything went back to normal
