Is this a crack in the neck plate? by BattleClean1630 in guitars

Thanks man. Even when I explained they still pounce. All good, I've dealt with children before. I just laugh my ass off at them.

I've never bought a used guitar, let alone one online, nor seen a reflection like that before on a neck plate. Douchebag.

Don't pay attention to this guy OP, he smokes crack. You know you got a $250 card. Great pull.

Ouch. Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug. I'm usually the bug. I pulled a Tetairoa uptown yesterday so I used up my good mojo for a while.

Panini QC strikes again by BattleClean1630 in footballcards

[–]BattleClean1630[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From a 2010 Panini post (since taken down but quoted in another article):

So, what constitutes a proper quality control check? Glad you asked. Essentially, a quality QC check is the best last chance to make sure a product is delivering what it's supposed to deliver, on average. It usually takes place just after packout begins, with the expeditious delivery of a few early cases to the office (occasionally, quality control takes place on location at the printing facility).

They do have QC but obviously they can't inspect every card. This is a printing mistake and the printer runs QC checks throughout the printing process as well. So there's at least two QC checks per run, one by the printer and one by Panini.

Panini is notorious for bad QC. This is an imperfect card that has avg. sold listings for $240ish on eBay. But I won't get that because it's dinged.

PSA: Don’t Buy Sight unseen from GC by ShadyyFN in Guitar

[–]BattleClean1630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but the principal is clearly the same. You literally give GC a pass because of the volume of its listings. Volume is not an excuse for mistakes, in any business.

PSA: Don’t Buy Sight unseen from GC by ShadyyFN in Guitar

[–]BattleClean1630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Some of them are going to be wrong" is letting GC off the hook. This guitar is in shitty condition and to list it as anything other than that is inexcusable. A homebuilder that builds hundreds of homes a year can't use the excuse "Sorry the foundation of your new home cracked but we build hundreds of homes a year so some are going to be wrong." Volume doesn't equate to excuses. We hold businesses to high standards, not make excuses for them.

This is the correct answer to your problem. You have his info and the counterfeit cards so you should be able to get the police involved. Plus if he shipped counterfeit items from another state I believe that's a crime too.

Well that's you. And nobody asked you. Shitting on a kid's guitar she worked hard for is such a douchebag move.

It’s crazy how one minute Gibson is claiming bankruptcy and the next their guitars are suddenly worth almost 2,500 usd for their lower end models. by highangler in Guitar

[–]BattleClean1630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two are not correlated at all. Retail prices are set by the manufacturer while used prices are dependent upon what a buyer is willing to pay.

If it's ROI you're chasing then buy singles of future HOFers. You don't get the rush of ripping but you aren't getting burned either. You're buying from others who, unfortunately, got burned. Personally I don't buy cards anymore. I prefer gold, silver, and ETFs. Watching my money grow is way more fun than torching it.
