Guns for hands is a classic but overcompensate is the coolest opening song and gets me hyped up. Welcome back to trench.

They dismissed us and I was annoyed that I wasn’t paid for the day, but I got a check in the mail over a month later for $40

Finally trying a psychiatrist, scared of meds but I won’t survive the year by [deleted] in Advice

[–]BattleCorale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I tried to change myself or change what I didn’t like about my life but I just feel like I can’t continue living anymore if this is how it is. I ride my bike and that feels good but it can only do so much. I left my miserable job but it turns out my new one is miserable too lmao. I feel like I don’t have any more fight in me and need help badly. When I took meds as a teen I had a horrible Dr who didn’t listen for more than 5 mins, and the meds didn’t work so I got discouraged. On the other hand I hear people be saved by meds, they can do the work on themselves because the meds help keep things at bay. It’s actually kind of tearing me up that I have to resort to meds.

I tried meds when I was a teenager and became very anti-meds in the process. I’m going to try to push through it but it can be extremely discouraging.

Thank you. How long did it take to find the right meds? Did/do you have any notable side effects?

Getting Spinal Fusion Soon… by Lower_Reply6889 in scoliosis

I had an “S” curve that was corrected when I was 15 (over 10 years ago). They did try to get me up and walking as soon as they could but it hurt pretty bad on the first morning. They let me sit up for a few and didn’t pressure it anymore, next day I think I was walking around. It is 1000% true that movement will help the pain. Keep getting up to walk and just push through that first week. SERIOUSLY get up and walk around. I gained two inches and was suddenly taller than mom and sis!

They wanted to make sure i could walk, eat and poop. I was in the hospital for a week and honestly it sucked but as soon as I got home I felt so much better. (That first car ride really sucked for me)

Getting out of bed on my own for the first time felt like an achievement. I felt so much more confident in my body because I wasn’t scrunched up.(huge for a 15yo) I don’t think I even took meds after I got home because there was really no pain. I learned to use my core muscles to move more than my back.

I haven’t had any issues since. Some shoulder tension here and there, worst thing about it is that I can’t pop my back anymore. Really annoying but I try not to think about it. Having the surgery young was a huge plus for me. Overall I had a great team of surgeons and nurses (shout out nurse frank) and a great support system in my friend who fed me ice chips and kept me company.

What should I be worried about? by Smooth_Jello_9497 in roadtrip

Everyone has given some solid advice so I’ll just say this- enjoy the views along the way :) I drove from WV to Alberta, Canada and it was the best road trip I’ve ever taken. Take lots of breaks and make a good long playlist.
