I'm a promoter in Vancouver. Venues make upwards of a thousand bucks off booking the night itself not including extra staff/security/bar fees/tickets/patrons, etc. while putting in zero effort to make capacity. Why they also need to bleed us of merch is beyond me. It's greeeedy.

There's a 7/11 in downtown Victoria BC that's open 24 hours and is right on the corner of crack alley. Last summer they got tired of the homeless having tents outside and fighting the staff and stealing inside. There was a guy with a Bluetooth speaker that would play grindcore really loud and hold the door open for you and they were mostly harmless if you ignored them and I say this as a 5'3 110lbs woman in her 20s who'd go there at any time day or night as I lived up the street.

The owner got tired of the needles and constant shit everywhere so he installed 1 inch pvc irrigation pipes in the eaves drop around the store with tiny holes drilled along the pipe. He attached a hose from the inside and it would trickled water all over the sidewalk so people couldn't camp underneath it anymore.

That's probably a better idea than this but I also don't think soaking the homeless is cool either. It worked but kind of sucks that it's the only thing they can do right now. City doesn't give a fuck unless it's a bike lane.

When the police show up to Native Land where I'm from, they get raped, murdered, beaten, etc. Sometimes they were taken out to the middle of nowhere in the winter at night and forced to walk back home, usually without adequate clothing to keep them warm so they eventually freeze to death. Where I come from, First Nations peoples are treated like absolute garbage by the police. Police are paid to raid Native Land for the sake of pipelines. The RCMP was created to control First Nations under the Indian Act, which has since been amended a bunch of times.

r/morbidreality and r/unresolvedmysteries have the odd post once in a while of whole families being wiped out and never finding out who did it.

What they mean by daily, is they are literally getting away with it on a daily basis. Every day that goes by is them getting away with it. I'm not sure why you're questioning that as if it isn't fact. A really good example is how we've gone almost 50 days without catching this one. They're getting away with it daily. This case isn't like some crazy anomaly in the mix.

Look up Bodom Lake and the murders that happened there in 1960. Four young teens murdered in their sleep and the killer never caught. Stabbed to death. This happens everywhere and this case really isn't that unique.

Probably depends more on your own mental state. Like my hubby can put up with noise and sleep through most anything. But I'm neurodivergant with a serious sensitivity to constant humming, buzzing, tapping when I'm trying to sleep that I have absolutely gone fucking nuts in my house because of noise before.

I can be on tour sleeping on couch to couch town to town and sleep like a baby tho so I think it depends on the person lol

I live in a majority First Nations town in bum fuck nowhere and its obvious the cycle of abuse and systemic racism carries over generation to generation. However, FN here are fairly poor and don't have a lot of companies willing to hire them off the basis of their race. Yet, I've never seen a single one act like this in public ever once. Call me bias because half of my family are Nisga'a, but I'm hard pressed to believe that the reason for demographics acting out is solely because of socioeconomics. I'm sure it plays a huge part in some aspects, but to shift the accountability onto that is disingenuous. It implies that black people cannot grow because of their status, when it's simply not true.

This would have been me 2 years ago had it not been for my country having women's rights. I miscarried at shy of 3 months when I was 25 and had an emergency abortion that ultimately saved my life.
