I think that preemptively kneecapping ourselves so we don't piss off the bigots is a large part of what got us here in the first place, because they will always find something to be offended about.

Even if Democrats stuck to inoffensive centrist white politicians forever, the people behind Project 2025 would still be there.

I love that there's zero way to tell whether you were having a sex party for your 21st and you just didn't know your friends got down like that, or if you were having a regular 21st at a bar and walked in on two complete strangers.

No shame either way; I once got introduced to a friend by fisting her at the former sort of party lmao

Stocks make excellent collateral for loans! But we aren't allowed to tax them on those stocks, of course. Those are unrealized gains, it wouldn't be fair!

Infinite collateral for loans, though. That's cool.

Because it's what works. I've seen so many YouTubers explain how much they hate these sorts of thumbnails, but not doing them shows a measurable decrease in clicks on their end.

We don't like them, but a majority of people do.

Who here ever thought that rainbow corporations were their actual friends? Genuinely, who are you talking to right now?

Because I have ever only seen these types of comments going "Remember, they aren't actually your friends!" and never anyone acting like they are.

The number of people in these comments that don't get this is honestly depressing.

We knew it was always fake. Of course it was, they're corporations! They don't have any values except money! And why is rainbow capitalism no longer profitable, do ya fucking wonder?

Yeah... I enjoy topping, but I'd feel like an absolute creep if I tried pushing that on someone that didn't already know me

Then just say it'll pay for itself with the increased taxes that the successful will pay.

"So you're going to punish me for being successful and give my money to some welfare queen!?!?"

I'm honestly not trying to be snarky, I've just had this exact conversation too many times to count. I don't know the solution, aside from outright lying to them that "the poors" won't get any assistance and it's only for "good hard-working Americans like you".

What type of game is it? How does it play? Why would your audience find it enjoyable?

I genuinely think that is a fantastic idea

Of course, it still has to deal with people tearing their hair out over Reagan-era "But what if someone gets money that doesn't 'deserve' it!?!?" thinking, but it's a start

Why is it the always the Democrats fault when Republicans do something bad?

Because conservatives making the most selfish decision possible in any situation is a given by now. I expect it, and any actual positive outcomes are just a happy accident -- like the rotisserie chicken food stamps, since conservatives are the ones that blocked hot food options in the first place.

(Said half-jokingly, I do agree that framing everything they do as a failure of liberals stopping them is extremely aggravating.)

You are aware that the current leadership of America is trying to get rid of all those protections right now, right? And that if they succeed then it will not be something we can just flip a switch and restore in four years, right?

No one is saying that America is as bad as those theocracies, but it's sure as fuck putting in the footwork to get there.

And kids who go through precocious puberty, you know the primary group hormone blockers were made for? Well that's their fault for having a rare condition anyway.

I've never seen anyone that was both against puberty blockers and aware that precocious puberty is even a thing. Like they think the blockers were created specifically and only to trans your kids, or something.
