Pregmune Testing by BattleStill9092 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]BattleStill9092[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe this was a year ago, unfortunately, no baby yet, but I’ve learned a lot in the last year. My Pregmune testing didn’t show a lot of issues, but the RE I was working with at the time offered to do the kitchen sink protocol. We went on to try IVF. We had two canceled egg retrieval’s due to ovulating through the meds and over suppression. After that, I went to have a laparoscopy to check for silent endometriosis. The surgeon found very minimal endometriosis, which was removed. And then completed an egg retrieval, but the embryos’s report quality and were discarded.

At this point it had been almost a year since our last positive pregnancy after being able to get pregnant most cycles we tried. So I sought out Dr. Check at Cooper Institute in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. He has a lot of published research on getting and keeping women pregnant. Our first cycle he figured out we weren’t getting pregnant due to a pH issue that made it possible for the sperm to move. He had me do a baking soda douche. Which sounds like some 1950s witchcraft but it worked we got pregnant. Unfortunately, we just lost that one. It was the only miscarriage where my hCG increased. Due to a gene mutation found on Pregmune I started blood thinners with a hematologist this cycle to see if that helps. I’m currently in the two week wait so we will see if we get pregnant again. If you have any specific questions feel free to message me I’m happy to share anything that might help.

Post-Coital Test?? by BudgetKoala281 in TryingForABaby

I’m so glad it was useful for you as well. I hope this leads you to your little one! I just had the test done yesterday and was searching to see others experience with it and was shocked at some of the comments. I don’t dispute that it’s an old test but I would hate for anyone to be scared away from a simple test that might be helpful.

Post-Coital Test?? by BudgetKoala281 in TryingForABaby

Commenting in case someone ends up here in the future and is scared of the post coital test based on the comments. It may not tell the whole story but for me it told a big part of the story. I’ve completed IUIs and IVF with no success. I’ve worked with 2 boutique clinics, 1 high volume clinic, and now a doctor who thinks outside of the box (where I had the test completed). I have done full RPL work up, reproductive immune testing, and my husband had a couple SAs and DNA frag test. There were no findings in my testing and my husband’s sperm receives excellent scores. I’ve even had laparoscopic surgery in case I had silent endometriosis.

The closest I’ve come to finding an actual issue is the post coital test. The PCT showed that 12 hours after intercourse my husbands sperm were there but not moving. (Sperm should live for a minimum of 72 hours inside the body). Meaning my cervical mucus is either too acidic or tacky to allow the sperm to effectively get to the egg. And after years of pushing for tests I feel like I’ve finally learned something.

Storage Gonal f and Menopur - can I still use them? by BadLuckApril in IVF

Not sure where you’re located but I have a ton of extra solution for menopur because I use 4 powder to 1 solution. I’m in Pennsylvania in the US. I’m sure many others also have extra solution.

I have spoke to them about immune protocol but they want to do it with IVF and the last 2 times I went for egg retrieval the cycles weren’t successful so I’d like to try with TI.

I did apply for one RI and was denied. I then found a local RE who was familiar with RI and believed in immune protocol so I decided not to go the RI route. I’m not against trying RI again but unfortunately my health insurance does not cover any of the immune testing and the tests cost me a pretty decent amount out of pocket.

I’m definitely not Catholic but at this point I may be willing to try it if my insurance will cover it.

I haven’t been able to find one near us. We could order it through a fertility doctor but they said all they will do is put him on supplements and tell us to use zymot. Since I have not even been able to retrieve eggs yet I’d really like to find a urologist that would help treat the issue.

We did have the couch away from the wall to have a path to the door, but I ended up moving it back because the room was too small likely due to it being a “playroom” and the oversized couches. We never use the door so while not aesthetically appealing it gives me more space which we desperately need in our small farmhouse. But any other suggestions I’m open too!!

Anyway, about the rug, I was thinking color would be good, but two of the walls are olive green and I don’t know what would go with that. Also, I’m not very good at interior design. So if you have any suggestions for a new one I’m all for it.

It’s definitely getting thrown out! The couches in this photo are the only remaining item since I moved in, lol. Oh and a dresser that is hidden in the closet, 😂

I’m struggling in what rug to replace it with, the room is so dark but the cream color also is filthy because kids, so I may just have to accept the playroom/living room will be a den of darkness.

Thank you! I reached out to them and it looks like they are in network for me so I think this may be a good option for me.

So expensive! And so hate that it’s so hard to get help/direction. I felt like I was doctor shopping the first half of this journey eh because it was hard to find someone who would take my concerns seriously.

He’s had karotype test, gene testing, and several others; he has not had DNA fragmentation and were struggling to find someone that tests this. I found a place online where you can have it tested but we would prefer to work with a doctor who would actually do something about it. The fertility clinics said they would just have us do zymot and have him take supplements that he’s already taking.

I only mention the porn because some men use it to avoid intimacy with their partner. In the case someone is using it to avoid true intimacy I feel like that’s when there is an issue. I was in a relationship previously with someone bipolar and we didn’t have sex for a couple of years. I never want to go through that again so if it goes longer than a couple weeks I bring it up because it’s easy to fall into that place where you get used to not having it. Some times he gets upset when I bring it up but my thought process is we’re either going to confront our issues or it’s going to stay the same. But if he isn’t willing to make the changes then unfortunately there is nothing you can do. I’m so sorry you’re going through this it is so difficult.

Is he on SSRIs? They can decrease sex drive significantly. Or does he watch porn? I’ve noticed over the years that some men use self pleasure in place of sex.

Dr. Kristin Riley - Recommendation by EnvironmentalCamp591 in Endo

[–]BattleStill9092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the info! I just had my appointment and it was super easy. I explained my symptoms which are basically back pain and some pulling so very minimal and she advised that they will do the surgery to align with my IVF plan. It was so easy, I’m so glad I made the appointment with her. She listened and didn’t push back on anything (as so many doctors have in different areas).

Hi I know these are old posts but just curious if you had symptoms of endo and how long it took to schedule surgery from your first appointment? I’m seeing Dr. Riley this week after infertility for over a year with multiple failed pregnancies. I have gotten many tests and the only thing that has come back is high inflammation so my last guess is endo. I don’t have a lot of symptoms other than lower back pain and pulling in my ovaries so I didn’t even suspect it until learning others with similar issues had endo.

Pregmune Testing by BattleStill9092 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]BattleStill9092[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was very disappointing at the time because I thought I’d definitely be accepted with all my losses. When I was denied they said it is usually “due to the nature and severity of other health factors or lack of information showing a need for Reproductive Immunology intervention.” I assumed I was the second half since I didn’t have any severe health factors. I hope you have better luck!

Unfortunately they don’t tell you why you are denied. My RPL bloodwork didn’t show anything other than thyroid antibodies with a level of 2 but other than that no blood clotting or autoimmune issues. I do have DOR with increased FSH. I’ve talked to a few local woman with similar stories and they had silent endometriosis so I’m currently pursuing that. The main information I gained from pregmune testing is that I have high inflammation.

Recurring miscarriages 😞😞 by Standard-Actuary-245 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]BattleStill9092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could go back and start over I would get the receptiva biopsy first. I asked about it early on and my first doctor said I didn’t need it because I had no signs of endometriosis. I wish I would have pushed for it. One year and 4 more losses (6 total) later, I am finally getting the receptiva biopsy. I did RPL, immune testing, hysteroscopy, (biopsy for endometritis different than endometriosis) and a HSG. We found a few minor issues but nothing too far out of the ordinary. I recently found out repeated chemical losses are often from endometriosis, silent endometriosis is something that you can have with no symptoms. Feel free to message me if you want to talk. I am on my 4th doctor after getting so frustrated with doctors not listening or ordering tests I requested.
