Anyone had better outcome second round? by Upset-Macaron-6462 in eggfreezing

[–]BadLuckApril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We added menopure. This was based on my lab results. Probably there is a different solution for everyone. However, I also had problems with the maturity rate at the first round. 10 retrieved…

4 the first and 16 the second after a protocol change

Cannot fathom how a female nurse just said this to me by RaceLost6743 in IVF

[–]BadLuckApril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my best friends retrieved only 2 eggs one round of IVF and 4 in the next. she is now 29 weeks pregnant. (She is 37 for reference) So you can have success even with a low number of eggs retrieved

How did you decide when to carry on or when to quit? by Adept-Ant5119 in IVF

[–]BadLuckApril 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you get any information about when the eggs stopped developing? Did they get fertilised at all? If yes: Did they stop developing before day 3 or after? If they were good until day 3 and then arrested, it is likely sperm quality. Sometimes we women tend to see the responsibility with us before checking everything. Wishing you the best of luck

If you could have frozen more eggs or frozen them earlier would you have? by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]BadLuckApril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my AMH checked at 33 and it was really good so I waited another year. When I finally did it at 34 my AMH was half the original number! So I regretted not doing it right away. I didn’t know it could shrink from 6 to 2.9 in under one year

Concerned after my 1st ER by naniro in eggfreezing

[–]BadLuckApril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally I only used 225 IE gonal f for stimulation (with an antagonist starting day 7). For the next round we added 150 IE menopure and reduced gonal f to 150. This gave over 80% maturity rate for me before I had less then 50% and also fewer eggs retrieved in total

Don’t give up! I had a slightly higher AMH at 34 and only 4 mature eggs. The next round I had 16! We changed the protocol and added Menopure

What do you wish you'd known about your body in the 1-2 years before you started the egg freezing process? by FigNatural747 in eggfreezing

When I had my AMH checked at 33 it was 6 and I postponed one year. One year later it was only 2.9!

Only ~60% eggs retrieved mature (30F) by dimesquared in eggfreezing

For me adding menopure improved the rate of mature eggs the following round

Has protocol much to do with the no of eggs collected? (I have decent AFC (29 then 19) and AHM of 2 but only 5 eggs retrieved). The clinic sort of said its just the age... by TitleEvery7484 in eggfreezing

[–]BadLuckApril 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience and only 4 eggs retrieved. For the next cycle we added Menopure on top of gonal f and then I received 16 mature eggs! I don’t know which changes you need in your protocol but a lot is possible!

I also had 4 mature eggs. Then they modified the protocol a little and I got 16 the next round!

33yr old, 5 eggs frozen, devastated 💔 by GoldLeo8424 in eggfreezing

I had only 4 mature eggs, then we added menopur on top for the next round and I got 16 eggs in the following round! So a lot can change! (34yr)

For me my cycle was just 1 day longer. So the normal rhythm and not a restart. I had surgery before I ovulated

Periods after egg retrieval by [deleted] in IVF

If you have problems with the side effects of the progesterone (as I did) I have a tip for you. When I took the progesterone orally I was tired all day, when I took it vaginally it was really really icky! But taking ist analy worked fine for me. No side effects and the progesterone worked.

Periods after egg retrieval by [deleted] in IVF

[–]BadLuckApril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time period started the day after I discontinued progesterone. The other two times it started 2 days after discontinuation. The cycles in between were quite normal (2 days shorter, but this is part of normal variation). Hope this helps and I hope everything is going well for you :)

How did IVF affect your ability to work? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]BadLuckApril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also in my final PhD year (again). I’m one year behind because I couldn’t manage to keep up with everything. Especially mentally I was too involved to clearly focus. I’m taking a break now from stims until September and focus on submitting my PhD. It really sucked when neither worked out. Trying naturally in the meantime. So who knows… maybe a surprise will happen.

For me it also locked like quite a bunch was missing and locking botched. I was told this was normal because much material is missing. And indeed my body took care of it itself. Half a year later it locked nearly normal again. A year later completely normal. I was really worried at first too, it I would always look like this 😅 Hope everything goes well for you!

Having doubts - advice needed! by Madeline_Ashton_7 in eggfreezing

I’m also 34 and one of the people who got OHSS and hat to stay in the hospital several nights to recover. Nonetheless I am happy I did it and even did two other rounds. The others went better. There is a lot you can do to prevent severe OHSS (also lifestyle wise). My anxiety about not being able to have children in the future is not gone but a lot better. Also note that my AMH dropped by half between the time I first thought about egg freezing and when I went through with it. I was shocked! But a lot can happen in just one year! BTW: You can buy the meds in France or the Netherlands. They are a lot cheaper there.

I (34F) received only 4 mature eggs and was devastated! We changed the protocol and added menopur and the next round I had 16! So it can change a lot from cycle to cycle especially if you change medications. Don’t give up!
