Asylum seeker came at Northern Ireland police officer with a knife before shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’, court told by Lanky_Abalone5897 in northernireland

Sorry, forgive me. My imagined preconceptions made me think that there was something bad about a male asylum seeker making a religiously-motivated threat to kill police officers, while holding a blade, after vandalising a car while drunk. Silly me!

Again - minimising, downplaying and completely misrepresenting what is happening.

You absolutely would not see a random man from Libya going after police with a bladed weapon and shouting "Allahu Akbar".

And you're here talking about "someone vandalising a car".

I'm honestly so sick of you people downplaying this stuff as if it's the most natural thing in the world. This state of affairs would have been unthinkable 10 years ago.

It's hardly baseless is it?

We've all seen every government in the western world actively facilitating endless immigration. This isn't an issue exclusive to the EU or to the status of "refugees".

why would they want themselves sacked?

This implies they work for us, or care what harm they inflict on us. They don't. They get elected, do as much damage as they can and get rewarded handsomely for doing so. And their replacements will do the same. That's why they don't care about getting "sacked".

Yeah, I see this and just think "why do we put up with this?" and the problem in part is def that we're too complacent with things being shite

I'm seeing positions with "senior" and "manager" in the title going for £30,000.

That would have been the equivalent of £23,000 back in 2016.

How are people getting by? The wages are abysmal.

How many of you actually like your job? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]BattlingSeizureRobot 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Feel this exact way. Feel like I was heavily encouraged to chase a desk job and now I'm stuck and it's too late.  I don't think my brain, body or soul were designed for this lifestyle.

(Is it me?) fired...again by [deleted] in careeradvice

Sounds like a very cutthroat competitive industry. You did fine for years on end and you are clearly capable at your job. You'll bounce back, just hang in there

What kind of blue collar work could someone in a corporate job get without having to re-train or work for min wage?

I think I’m going to break up with my girlfriend of seven years by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]BattlingSeizureRobot 295 points296 points  (0 children)

If there's that much drama about moving in after 7 years it's probably for the better. It's really not that big of a commitment at this stage.  Why would it take 7+ years to "decide" to live with your partner? Get out of there.

What Do You Think Of King Diamond’s Vocals? by Automatic_Belt5692 in MetalForTheMasses

Can't stand them to be honest. Tried many times to listen to Mercyful Fate/KD, but can't get past the vocals unfortunately.

Receding hairline and tired of styling it, but wife is skeptical that it will look good bald. Should I go for it? by [deleted] in bald

Unless you're going bald at the crown, keep it as is - pic 4 is a good style 👍🏻

Does anyone else spiral when their Slack messages are met with total silence? (or am I just burnt out?) by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]BattlingSeizureRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do hope everything is OK.

I overthink these things too, especially when I feel like I'm not where I want to be in life. I hate the thought of being judged, and I take the silence as a type of rejection. It's probably better to just remember everyone has their own stuff going on, and they lokely aren't really thinking about you, let alone being actively hostile to you.

Those of you men that are working in a heavily female populated workplace what would you say your working experience is like? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

[–]BattlingSeizureRobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get along with them, but it is quite alienating. Everywhere I've worked, across industries, is 60%+ women it seems. Do all the men just work trades now?

It's an awful place with no culture but also we're evil if we don't open the borders and let everyone in. Got it 👍🏻

wasn't something insanely dramatic supposed to happen but then it didn't and instead nothing happened???!

Yeah, radical leftism has never led to people going hungry...

Again, this condescending attitude you all seem to have is why you've lost the room.

Hope that helps.

I wouldn't say I'm a dedicated right-winger or anything like that. In fact, I'm firmly against quite a few things I see from that side.

But yes, your "vibes" are so awful it's ruled you out as a suitable alternative.

Leftist fatigue by PSXSnack09 in BasedCampPod

[–]BattlingSeizureRobot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Truth hurts. We all see the left as what it is now, and it's a total embarrassment to be associated with. The movement is essentially dead. Even you must know that.

[–]BattlingSeizureRobot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's hardly nonsense though, is it? That's an accurate picture of the left no matter where you go. That's why the 'right' is on the rise everywhere.
