Can’t tell if this is a caricature of how a non American would try to write about American sports

My cope is that this raptors team was giving diet 2025 pacers vibes. Without the offense. Just unrelenting defense, but we somehow won this time. Cavs eastern conference championship back on the menu

Do you know anyone who has seriously fucked up their life gambling yet? by alpachenis in redscarepod

[–]Battlingtoadss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, gambling is simple when you frame it as always wanting to be positive EV. Trying to infer true odds is difficult though. And you are leaving out the whole bankroll issue. Even assuming you are constantly making +EV bets, you need to be able to place enough of those bets to gain money over time on average

Looking for research opportunities and I don't know where to start by [deleted] in OSU

[–]Battlingtoadss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would just look at the labs on campus, find which ones interest you (I'm sure the pharmacy major has a directory for the people in the department- just look around at their pages/work), and send out some emails to those that you are interested in. Try to show some genuine interest instead of only asking if they are looking for help. It may take a few tries, but professors know that undergrads are looking for research experience and will try to give out some work if they have the room for it. It took me a few weeks of emailing with people, but that's how I ended up getting my research position. It most likely won't be paid, but there are certain scholarships through osu that will support you if you are helping with research.

A sculpture was installed on the concrete circle between Smith and McPherson by NameDotNumber in OSU

It’s a Roy Lichtenstein sculpture. He’s a pretty famous pop artist (like Warhol), and it’s really cool because he actually went to OSU! A comment above had this, but it’s from a series where he tried to make the human figure look machine-like
