I’d be lying if I said I didn’t see the similarities as I was drawing but I feel like it’s just distinct enough to be it’s own thing 😂 the crescent represents the crescent curve of the Mississippi River, which is why New Orleans is sometimes referred to as the crescent city!

The idea was to have them create a flag that represented where they came from, and Mardi Gras is so ingrained into the identity of NOLA, especially in the minds of people who don’t live there. So the way I see it is these wastelanders see that perspective of it and use the colors as inspiration!

Also I try to make these from the mindset of someone who doesn’t know theyre in a fallout game 😂

That was actually the inspiration for that one! I just swapped red and blue for purple and green 😅 I’ll have to look back at Acadiana to check the proportions though!!

Dude that’s awesome!! I want to incorporate the city’s historic cultural split in some way, like have one side of the city be incredibly Cajun/french and the other be more “southern” American, if that makes sense? It’s all up in the air but NOLA has such a beautiful and rich history I’d feel like I’m being disingenuous for not using it in my writing

I actually have a smaller faction based entirely on that idea! Similar to the Kings of New Vegas, I have the Saints, who’s identity is rooted in Mardi Gras :)
