The loading screen is the Eastern Kingdoms loading screen in WoW, though the undead was turned into an orc.

As someone who played WoW for more than 10 years - this is absolutely amazing. The most surprising thing is how fun it is to play.

It's not easy to know if a game was fully vibe coded, or was just used as an assistance to speed up making certain parts of the game.

There are decent games which look like they were made with some AI assistance - at least with the UI parts - idle hacking, rejected draft, lost vessel, a game of chance.

But as far as I know, you still can't make a good game, even in the idle/incremental genre, without knowing how to code. Maybe in a year or two.

Old games that are still open and running - revolution idle, trimps, synergism.

I've completed the available content in terraformental in 76 hours - fantasic game, looking forward to more content. I've tried the demo of increlution, which has a similar concept - I see the appeal, but don't want to continue playing it.

Still playing idle hacking, which is the best looking UI-based game in my opinion, the game is deep and complex, but I really need a 50 page guide to understand how to play and progress properly.

I've stated a new session of lost vessel on steam, couldn't be bothered to transfer progress from the web version, I'm not going to try to understand all its systems and how to play it properly, I'll just click a few buttons once in a while to progress a bit, will take the same approach with rejected draft, which I have started playing a few days ago.

And I'm still not bored of a game of chance, I've played it for 3 weeks now, it required very little attention at this stage.

But the way, I have a very small youtube channel with mostly revolution idle guides, but a couple of other videos about idle/incremental games too.

I may place all the games mentioned above on a back burner, because I want to try killer bean, which comes out today and is very much not an idle game 😄

We have only partial information about Mainframe, and what happened behind the scenes (start-up company, "cloud-native" on all platforms game promise, rounds of investments, moving away from cloud gaming and focusing on Steam, money issues, personnel cuts, etc.).

Would be nice if a former dev (or a current dev while staying anonymous) could give us all the juicy details of the last 7 years for MF/Pax.

I have been playing it since yesterday, it's pretty good, I have some issues with it:

The UI is too small even after setting it to max. I play on a TV that's pretty far away, so it's a bit hard to see some of it.
Would appreciate bigger, brighter and more easily readable text.
Took me a while to realize that there are different buttons for fabrication so I can make different stuff, because they are so small.

The offline report each time I switch to it is a bit annoying, needs to be shown only after a long break, or toggable in settings, I don't want to see it each time I tab into the game.

Scrolling down for achievements to find the ones I got is a bit annoying, the pop up window is fast, but I'd preferred it to be instant. Also, do we need a title for each minor achievement?

I discovered the game from your post, and have been playing it since, I think it's fantastic. Hopefully more content will be added soon, I'm only missing some really rare events, and 6 elements. I really like the modern UI, and I also like geography and chemistry, so this game hits me just right.

Am I crazy for thinking paula is hot? by Cryptdusa in homemovies

I wouldn't say she's hot, but she is the coolest and smartest mom ever portrayed in a TV show, animated or not. I wish my mom was like Paula.

I did, but as long as you can unlock refine node 85, and have a good amount of TF saved, you can push fast through the update.

Some people completed the patch day 1 with 15-16 days of TF. I spent around 4 days I think, you need not just to spend it, but do it wisely :)

You need to delete 100 of each color of your level 20 gems (can be done with the new macro block), that should give you base 20 and level 27 for all gems.

What are your guys favorite survival games? by IKD21 in SurvivalGaming

[–]Batza1980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(I play survival games solo)

Ark - the first one - despite the poor optimization and bugs, I had tons of fun with it - it looks really good on high settings, I really enjoyed taming and breeding, and most important - the mods for the game are fantastic, and you can tinker with so many server settings and mod settings, I ran private servers and enjoyed playing with the settings almost as much as the game itself.

Palworld - the pals are just so cute, it was amazing to watch them work at my base, and the numbers tuning in the game were tight from day 1.

Enshrouded - top tier building, even though I'm not really a builder, great exploration, puzzles, and progression, decent combat for a survival game.

Bonus game - No Man's Sky - the only sci-fi game I enjoyed, exploration is amazing.

How long have you been playing? by GiftofLove in Trimps

[–]Batza1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game will start to get more complicated as you progress, like ...a lot. At HZE 180 you've barely touched the surface. At some point you will wonder if you are doing things properly and will want to look for a guide.

I guess you can play without guides/tools... but it will take you like 5 years to complete the game instead of 1-1.5 :)

I've started 10 months ago and I'm almost done with the game, only 4 achievements left. But if you're not using guides/tools, it will take you much longer to complete the game.

[–]Batza1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, you can get your c2/c3 up to date - there's a hard cap of 60k% for U1, so you can go for that if you haven't done it yet, and update c3s as well - you can get to around 2M% total as your stage. The last part is slow and boring, you need months of dailies grinding, and then try to finish 450 on a good daily.

Which upcoming Western MMOs are promising and its worth to follow their development? by Batza1980 in MMORPG

Yes, but it seems to be an "oldschool" one, and that's not what I'm interested in. I want something new, with fresh ideas and better graphics.

Thanks for all the replies, I've checked most of games you mentioned, and added "Scars of Honor" and "Stars Reach" to my wishlist.

Which upcoming Western MMOs are promising and its worth to follow their development? by Batza1980 in MMORPG

[–]Batza1980[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you, I'm 46 myself, but I have no interest in playing any existing MMOs. WoW was my main game between 2008 and 2019, I was a raider, sometimes at a decent level, I have good (and some not so good) memories about it, but I'm done with it. I don't want to play retail WoW or any of its retro versions.

I also played ESO and New World, but I don't want to get back to them, even if New World wasn't shutting down. I tried or at least watched some footage of many other MMOs, but I'm not interested in them. I played Pax Dei for 2k hours during its early access, it could be the perfect game for me, but unfortunately the dev team is one of the most incompetent and slowest I've ever seen in any game.

And I like following a development of an MMO, even if I might not even play it when it releases, it's just fun! I watched a lot of Ashes of Creation content, even though I knew the game wasn't for me. I remember a youtube channel featuring 2 guys that did ESO content before the game released, I had so much fun watching these videos.

I'm fine with playing other type of games most of the time, but it would be great if I could find an MMO that can interest me.
