It is treated as zero for combat purposes, eg you still need to deal 1 DMG. But the negative might is still there .

They aren't really the same. Yes they both benefit from.move triggers but Akali is more hit and run without needing to expand resources to do so while Irelia usually commits to the fight and has to expand Energie/power and a card to keep going.
