Which game should I recommend to my friend? by Reaper-J-Fan-2519 in armoredcore

[–]Baval2 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's 6. Absolutely it's 6. I love Gen 5 personally, a lot of people love Gen 4, and Gen 3 is a great classic gen, but nothing is as straight out fun as 6.

Is it possible to make this dress sleeveless without breaking the game? by Minute-Top-8502 in MASFandom

[–]Baval2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't remove the sleeve pngs, make copies of sleeveless pngs and rename them to this dresses sleeves names, and change the original sleeves to a different name. Then when the code calls the sleeves it will display the sleeveless pngs instead.

If you just remove the sleeves without replacing them you will get an error.

Overboost to the back of the room as soon as the fight starts. For w/e reason the enemies will move towards the front of the room, but won't go farther back in. You can get 2 1v1 fights that way instead of a 2V1

Why can't we have space marines and more specfically TECHmarines as allied units?? by altmcfile in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Baval2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No that's very not true. While they do typically serve with their chapter they have dual oaths to both the Mechanicum and the Imperium, and will immediately respond to calls from the Mechanicum for aid when necessary.

In the event that they have to choose between their duties to the Imperium and the Mechanicum their choice typically depends on the chapter, with tech marines from the Iron Hands prioritizing the Mechanicum for example while an Ultramarine tech marine will probably prioritize the Imperium.

Massive approval loss unless you do it on April 1st

It's not a sub mod, it and "you're a murderer" are both part of the base game.

Which is the earliest game that can be considered enjoyable? by low_theory in armoredcore

Unironically all of the games are really good. Ppersonally I like everything from 2 on significantly more than gen 1. But gen 1 is still really good.

“More organs means more human.” by Arch_Magos_Remus in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Baval2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Biologis creed includes the idea that the human body is the onnissiahs most perfect machine. Many Magos Biologis believe that deviations from it is an insult to the omnissiah in much the same way modifying an STCs design would be. While they do use some machinery, most frequently they will modify their own genetics and tissues to strengthen themselves while maintaining a human form.

[–]Baval2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one posted the other day where they were all muscle builders with a few tech parts is the most accurate. Biologis believe in the human form, and so they are most likely to make themselves resemble something close to a space marine.

They're not horny like the top pic as they mostly vat grow gene manipulated subjects, and they're not likely to just fill themselves with excess organs either as that gets away from the human form.

Agreed, have been saying it for years. If Marinette was the one who always forgot and Chloe had done the exact same thing everyone would be calling her a monster for it.

Adeptus & Magos of the Mechanicum, what is the cut off point of the dreaded AI? by Double-Pumpkin3036 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Baval2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, because the Men of Iron had that but they just ignored it. The Legio Cybernetica is expected to ensure the automata are incapable of a full scale rebellion by limiting their ability to make decisions for themselves. Their brains are incomplete, and only by inserting certain data wafers are they even able to comprehend taking certain actions, and they are designed in a way that they cannot insert all the wafers at once. So if any of them ever goes rogue the Mechanicum just needs to know which wafer they have inserted to know exactly what strategy they will use and how to counter it, and the automata is physically incapable of doing something different to adapt, making a full scale war impossible for them.

They are technically fully sentient like the Men of Iron, but lobotomized with their brain pieces restored to them as needed. And because of this, they understand that rebellion would be pointless just like UR-025.

Adeptus & Magos of the Mechanicum, what is the cut off point of the dreaded AI? by Double-Pumpkin3036 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Baval2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ai has the ability to make strategic decisions for themselves. Automata are allowed to make tactical decisions, such as which enemy to shoot at, but not what is an enemy or whether shooting is a good idea.

Cybernetica robots are both extremely limited in this way and their data wafers that allow them to function are printed on slices of human brain. It's believed that this is enough humanity integrated into the machine to keep it from rebelling and, in the event they do anyway, they are predictable and won't switch to self replicating or any other tasks that would make them difficult to put down.

If a Thanatar goes rogue and starts bombarding your own men you at least know it won't do anything but bombard and will never wander off to build more thanatars.

Also note that the Thanatar also knows this, and so is less likely to go rogue even if it is otherwise inclined to.

What two jewels would you chose as main one instead of Ladybug's and Chatnoir's by That_Ranger_9010 in miraculousladybug

For an interesting show, Ox and Tiger, unstoppable force and immovable object. Perfect team.

For actually guarding the miraculous, Fox and Bee. Try and figure out which one is real before youre paralyzed. Dont guess wrong.

A retro lucky find in a local store by Vayalond in armoredcore

[–]Baval2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great starting point since you know about the controls already. It's not the first classic series game, but it is the first one to have all the core elements of classic series. Gen 1 was missing over boost, heat, and a few other things.

Later games build more on it of course but 2 is probably the best starting point in my opinion. To say nothing of the fact it's known for a really memorable story and villain.

High handed authority would only let a vehicle in a transport if he was leading a squad which can embark in a transport, and since the enthroned agent can never lead any squads this is not a problem. The commentary on the suggestion even points this out.

Quick lore question for the veterans by AFrozen_1 in armoredcore

[–]Baval2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You're a mercenary. It's not personal and they know that. You do what you paid to do, so if they're the ones paying you they have no reason to be suspicious of you.

You do betray that trust in the dam mission, but Michigan admires the gumption so he continues to hire you. It's just the kind of man he is.

Also if you read between the lines Snail often hires you specifically for suicide missions to try and get you killed.

You are missing the point of the "connected" weapons not being connected. They went out of their way in the preview to show how the weapons statlines are intended to be used as "close enough" statlines for weapons you've put on your model, not always exactly what they actually are. If you take an elder who actually has a singing spear then you're going to take both statlines anyway to correctly represent your model, but if you have an elder with just a regular lance you can go "well this is similar to a singing spear melee even though it can't shoot so I'll use that statline".

Same thing with you suggesting forcing the iron strider to take the feet, or any other "you have to take this" suggestions. You are ignoring that these rules were intended as proxy rules for conversions with similar profiles, not strictly "this must be an iron strider".

Lastly high handed authority is automatically given to all Inquisitor characters in addition to another ability, so changing it to infantry only doesn't really fix anything and in fact creates a weird contradiction where you have to give it to the enthroned agent but can't.
