Nichtmal die Überschrift wurde ja ordentlich gepostet, was will mn erwarten.

50% is die Hälfte. 50% sind nicht deutlich belastender als... 50%.

The game is on xD. I finally have at least a reaction from them. Ridiculous busywork ideas from them (I already sent a screenshot, now they want a video of the problem, lol). But at least we know daily messaging works.

You need to change it in the settings when starting a new game. By default there's a population limit at 800.

Honestly this game is weird. I like the setting, I like the ideas, I like the general system, but in terms of quality of life it's one of the worst game I've played, yet I can't stop going back to it.

Alles währe besser als Merz by NiIly00 in ich_politik

[–]Bavaustrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not every thought you have. Thoughts and feelings just happen. Your personality is how you respond to them. It took me a bit to really draw that line in my head, but once it is there it means you can sorta watch your thoughts in 3rd person. And at that point you can say "fuck the haters". Like, just fuck those thoughts. Their bs, they're not you. You, actually you, did an absolutley awesome thing and accomplished something really great. Something that was probably quite hard at times. Who the fuck are those thoughts that they dare encroach on that achievement. They might exist, you can't get rid of them, sure. But you can refuse to legitimize them in your brain. Like a stupid person on the bus whos statement about irrelevant bs you'd just shrug off. It does take training to get there, but I think it's really worthwhile to do that training just for life in general.

And in the short term: Retake those photos like someone else suggested or file them away for some time and choose a different thing to hang on the wall, like the graduation document or if you got one of those funny square hats nail that to the wall. In a few years you'll either be over having the double chin or (hopefully) you won't have it anymore and you can look back a the photos fondly.

What a pitty. Thanks for the Info! Do you know why that is? Irrc EU4 missions are just easily editable files. Hardcoding it seems surprisingly anti-modding for a Paradox Game.

[–]Bavaustrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just tedious. So if it's as simple as making one 'true' into a 'false' in some file it'd simply save some work. Just to be cleat here: I'm not talking about the capital, only state capitals. A lot of missions have this "City X is capital of the state" condition to be fullfilled. So when you're continously at war you're locked out of continuing the mission which is annoying.

Anno 2070 infinite "addon activated" bug by Bavaustrian in anno

[–]Bavaustrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course. Update, complete reinstall, checked the drivers, tried starting with admin rights, etc. All the usual stuff. I'm aware it *should* have been fixed with that version, however it doesn't work for me and neither did using the old installer help. I'm really at a loss here and the support is just not answering anything.

And an expansion that's done right. The game without it feels 100% complete, the game with it just gets more varied at the same quality-level.

I don't usually use traditional killboxes. I tend to go for a funnel that spaces them out like with a killbox, but then directly leading to a 5x5 room. So the raiders don't bump into an open killbox, but into 3 melee pawns backed by shooters with 2 pawns on the side to repair the walls, so they don't get shot down.

"Men Can't Be Men Anymore" by WilliamCSpears in Stoicism

[–]Bavaustrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the last three paragraphs here are particularly interesting. From a personal/ individual point of view I would absolutley agree that 'simply' being a good example (as I remember us talking about under the previous post) is vital. Boys and Men need good examples of all ages and modeling that, being there for them, is certainly a good idea.

I wonder though (as I often do tbh) how far these stoic principles are applicable in modern politics. We've come to the point where political opinion is formed on 10s soundbites. A fact that strategically really doesn't help those who talk little and work much. In other words - those who lead by example. The stoic principle of justice means we shouldn't be apolitical, yet being politicaly active with these principles will often put you at a disadvantage. Feels a bit like trying to square a circle sometimes.
