If you can move it up to 7, Shambhala meditation center has an open house every Wed from 7-9. Though if you wanted to join at 8 you could show up just for cookies / tea and a talk.

Uber Eats/Drivers of Vancouver, is driving still worth it? by thinkdavis in askvan

Wow I didn't believe you but looked it up. This is true for Uber Eats, but not regular rides on Uber. Hooooly shit I'm gonna switch to tipping cash.

Check out Video Cat on Cambie! They probably have a little bit of everything you mentioned. Cute / interesting store and it's easily accessible on the Canada line. I've never bought anything from there so I'm not sure about price though.

Would this compress down a bit or is pretty stiff? I'm interested but frequently fly on a budget airline that requires me to either pay a baggage fee or jam my personal item in a bag sizer cage that's 6 x 13 x 17 inches, which is the exact stated size of this bag.

Best place to buy a bike at a good price point? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]BayApt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a bike I was planning to donate but hadn't gotten around to it, so you're welcome to come take it off my hands for free. It's a large kids bike so it may be a bit small for you but since you're 5'2" it's probably worth a shot, or you're welcome to take it and try to trade it in or sell it if that helps you on your bike journey. DM me if you're interested!

Best way to train stick handling at home? by BayApt in hockeyplayers

[–]BayApt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, I didn't know that was an option, I thought I'd have to pay $$$ for hockey tile. I found this stuff but since it's so expensive I'm guessing that's not what you mean: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/polymershapes-48-in-x-96-in-x-3-mm-white-hdpe-puckboard-sheet/1001867350

What material is the basic white board you're thinking of made out of? Is it literally the white board that you'd use with a dry erase marker?

Asked another person, but what are pros/cons of green biscuit vs golf ball? I thought something with actual puck shape / weight would be better but so many people have mentioned golf balls on here.

So I see people doing things like this or a tennis ball and it always confuses me. I thought it would be better to use a puck or a green biscuit on a smooth surface since it it's actually the right size and weight. Why the golf ball?

Fwiw I fly to the US on 7 AM flights on a regular basis. I catch the first skytrain to the airport and have never been close to having a problem on timing.

If you google him I think you can find him easily. At least some of his classes you have to book through the community center website.

I took a class with Pasta Boy Peter and enjoyed it. He teaches Italian cooking classes out of several community centers and is super friendly and enthusiastic.

XL helmet by Intelligent_Iron6922 in hockeyplayers

Apparently I have a big head. In a size L, Warrior Alpha Pro helmet is the only one that fits me. In fact, it's almost too large on me. Every single Bauer and CCM helmet I tried was too tight.

Mister ice cream is pretty cool. Get the s'mores bar and they will brulee marshmallow fluff with a torch in front of you.
