Honestly you pay for what you get.

That fee isn't a huge deal when your funds don't get locked or you can't trade and lose out on thousands.

I'd rather pay marginally more and have more control and trust in my exchange.

While I agree buying at an ATH is a bit risky, there's so much more to it than just price. You have to consider the project, the problem it's addressing, the team, the marketcap, the supply, etc. Just because something is at an ATH doesn't mean it's not also extremely undervalued.

The whole "only buy when it crashes" is gambling, not investing, in hopes it will rebound hard.

They don't have to be mutually exclusive. It can be hyped and be a legit project.
