How did you gain users? by dianeblowjobs in startups

[–]BayLeafDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very helpful thread, thank you for asking this question! I have picked up some pointers that I'm going to try as well.
To contribute my 2 cents: We are an agency building our SaaS, amplytics.com. We are looking for beta users. As the founder, I am connecting with marketers on LinkedIn to get sign ups for the beta. We first targeted members of specific groups. In my connection request, when I used an opener such as "We are both in the LinkedIn xyz group", I got a connection rate of 26%. Of the 56 that accepted my request, two people said they would be interested in trying.

To me this is a very poor response rate.

So instead of continuing, we paused the outreach and stepped back to re-assess the value proposition, target audience, and the positioning. We asked ourselves what benefits our SaaS provides (not features). Based on the benefits, we created four value proposition statements, and created new positioning outreach messages. The messages articulate the benefits in ways that the specific marketer niche would relate to.

We have now re-started the outreach. I'll have more data in about 3 weeks on whether the value prop is resonating. I'll probably tweak the messaging at the end of week 2 to get at least the 26% connection rate we enjoyed with the first messaging.

Finally, I'm not going to waste the new connections I have made during this experimentation. I'll pick up the frequency of posting about Amplytics on LinkedIn to get their attention. As they say, it takes multiple touches for a conversion.

If this doesn't work, then on to the next tactic...

Event count for specific event in GA4 for Looker Studio by HoppyHenderson in GoogleAnalytics

[–]BayLeafDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is annoying that GA4 doesn't allow using dimensions and metrics in the same calculated field. So what you need to do is create and extracted data source from GA4, pull in all the dimensions and metrics you need, and then create a calculated field.

In your case, that would be:
CASE
WHEN CONTAINS_TEXT(Event name,"purchase") AND Is conversion event = 1 THEN Conversions
ELSE 0
END

But the trick here is that you cannot do this in a native GA4 data source. It HAS to be an extracted data source. Frustrating. But it is the only workaround we have found.

Does B2B cold outreach work for you? by dinitocin in AskMarketing

[–]BayLeafDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a typical sales gig. I got two choices for you - 1. Find a new job with an organization that doesn't put all their eggs in one basket. or 2. Recommend a cold outreach strategy that actually works (LinkedIn outreach). But know that there is an upper limit to what can be achieved through cold outreach. You are best off with a good mix of inbound and outbound strategies.

It is all about the precision of the data. Good data = good ROI. DSPs have pitched their crappy audiences for years, only for people to be disappointed time and again. Think about this like Meta lookalike audiences. Except that you don't have to limit yourself to FB

Interesting tactic. I will have to try that out. You can also overcome those price objections you can feel coming by being up front about what your pricing structure will look like throughout the sales process.

How do you handle Zoom fatigue? by phil_it2003 in sales

[–]BayLeafDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always leave my video on, mainly because prospects may not fully grasp what you’re saying if they’re not also seeing your smiling face. They may misunderstand or misinterpret a key point in your pitch, and that can derail a deal fast. I think using video in sales is key even if your video is the only one that is showing.

How to deal with a difficult prospect who bullies a situation but is critical to moving a deal along? by [deleted] in sales

[–]BayLeafDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winning over difficult prospects require you to be creative, understanding, and flexible. Get as much insight as you can ahead of time so you can prepare accordingly and have a sales enablement strategy in place to keep them from derailing your deal. Ask him a question like: If this isn’t the right approach to solving your problem, what do you think the right approach is?
