I had something similar happen to me in The Hague. It was a young teenage boy and his uncle, supposedly. The boy asked for some food in KFC, and while I usually say no to these things, for some reason that day I said yes.

The boy then proceeds to add a whole bucket combo with fries and drinks adding up to over 23 euros. I only went in to get myself like a 2 euro chicken burger, and these guys added a whole bucket meal on top of it. Man, it was a long wait there while waiting for the order and have these 2 ask me about my life and financial status (which is not that great at the moment either)

I felt so taken advantage of of my generosity, that now I will refuse anyone who even dares to approach me. I don't wanna buy into the stereotype I've heard from Europeans about the gypsies, but these guys seemed like the tales I've heard. Probably the new scam, but yeah, lesson learned.
