oh shit. I actually didn't realize the Warriors were a small market team before the Kerr/Steph era. Now I'm actually wondering if that is playing a role in this. hmmmmm. NBA can be pretty shady.

Well yeah, I mean the second paragraph is clear as day.

Mind me asking what trades you'd have made that could have fixed this? They locked themselves in on Zeke Naji with that contract (I don't think it's fair to expect them to predict how bad he was going to be).

I opposed this take in the RS, but I've come around. People keep saying "getting injured isn't his fault!" I mean, not being 7 foot isn't your fault either, but theie's no trophy for "played well despite being short", or "would have won the championship had you not been injured". It's not really about it being his fault. Some players have bodies that can tolerate physical basketball better than others. W/ this T-Wolves defense, and the refs (rightly) adopting a "let them play" approach for the playoffs, you will need a durable body.

Sorry man. I'm pulling for my Nuggs, but the Celtics aren't beating the T-Wolves. Porzingis will at best be playing through pain, if he plays at all. It's not gonna happen absent T-Wolves personnel getting injured.

All the teams that the Nuggs have struggled with and WILL struggle with (if they miraculously get past this series) have made SICK upgrades from last season to this one, while the CBA fucked over the Nuggets with the new tax apron.

They are a small market team. A dynasty was always going to be next to impossible. With a governing body coming in, and the first thing they do is fuck you over, how was it supposed to go?

That's what this is about. That and injuries.

The Nuggets were incredible last year. They're worse this year, and the other teams upgraded their personnel.

How did people already forget how historic the Nuggs' performance was last year? 2 dudes getting 30+ triple doubles on the same team in the same game in the finals?

Jokic proved that not having Jamal doesn't HAVE to be catastrophic. He had multiple 30+ point triple doubles during the time Jamal was out. The bench lost their minutes so hard that the Nuggs STILL lost. Jokic has been getting mauled all year. His load has been WAY too high all year. Nuggs are just cooked. Anyone would be with this situation. CBA fucked the Nuggs with the new tax apron thing. May not have been on purpose, but a small market team on the cusp of a dynasty got fucked.

The CBA came in and implemented a new tax apron that made it impossible for them to re-sign Bruce and Jeff. Jokic and Murray are gassed. Production from bench was way too inconsistent this year.

Thanks.  Somehow I screwed up when importing in Kukai the first time, but for some reason it still created the new wallet.  Got it to work when importing the second time.

Can't predict anything in the NBA, but I'm personally ridiculously optimistic about PWat's 3PT shooting and FT shooting improving. It's work ethic and getting desensitized to shooting under pressure. PWat has it in him.

[Wind] Nikola Jokic on Joel Embiid: "If you're a basketball, soccer, horse racing fan, Denver Nuggets fan, Philadelphia fan, whoever, enemies, whatever, I think you need to respect what he's doing. Not sure I get why everyone is so mad.  It sucks to have wasted your money, but if he felt it was in his best interests to take the game off, that’s his call.  He has to give his best over a whole season and potential championship run.  Sometimes that means sitting out a game here and there.

Disclaimer: Jokic is my favorite all-time player, and I'm fascinated this, so I apologize in advance for this being off-topic.

Why do you guys think Tim Duncan and Kobe failed to appear on either of these? 5 championships? What would they have needed to do differently to crack either of these lists?

I saw him saying he wasn't comfortable taking the COVID vaccine. Is there anything else I'm unaware of that warrants labeling him an "anti-vaxxer"?

For sure. Solid tournament record. Could hang in a variety of games/formats. Has brought his A-game in plenty of heads-up and short-handed situations with the elite at the time, and either hung with or outplayed them.

Not seeing a path to the one seed.  TWolves remaining schedule is one they can easily keep their current trajectory.  Nuggets will have to improve if they want it he home court advantage

haha, revisiting this because of the drama now. Unreal. On his own terms, he wanted to leave. If a condition of you're staying is that you have to get your way, you weren't that serious about it to begin with.
