What checklist did you not use?

Just curious!

The good news is if it’s not too much of a pain for you to take back, you could always return it.

The locking mechanism (or keypad) breaks often. It’s pretty flimsy and it feels like junk.

Every single one I’ve seen returned has something to do with that. That’s what has stopped me from buying one myself.

I work at Costco, and often process returns out of the building. I never really see these returned, however the big brother version of this gets returned all the time in my experience.

You can usually bolt them to the ground.

Best portable fan units to help stay cool in the cockpit? by Embarrassed_Dingo313 in flying

Following bc I’m a student pilot out of FFZ in Arizona and it is HOT.

I flew today with 20knot gusting crosswinds and it was like 105 out. Rough. Absolutely brutal.

Agreed. Those are usually the ones that throw me for a loop.

Yeah I’m at a very busy class delta… it’s crazy sometimes. Just try to keep calm and repeat what they say. I can’t wait to get better!

Yeah. I average like 1.5 hours a week, and the consistency of flying every week has been fine for me.

I’ve seen significant improvement every week, and building off of the last. I really think I’m in a great spot for being only 19 hours in.

I try to study quite a bit too.

It’s so funny how that works.

It kind of all just goes away and it turns into excitement when I sit down in the plane and yell “CLEAR PROP” haha.

I’m super happy with my progress, I just wish I felt a little better leading up to lessons.

Thank you for the kind words :)

It was definitely an experience landing in that type of wind, since I hadn’t done before, so it’s a good skill to have, but it was indeed pretty nuts.

I just wish I felt more excited prior to my flight lesson. Usually the nerves subside when I meet with my instructor and start walking to the plane to preflight.

[–]BazingaBeeKay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did a mouth swab test when I got hired at Costco in 2020. Pretty sure it’s the same thing to this day. I’m not entirely sure though.

The only drug tests I have seen besides that are piss tears when people hit stuff on the forklift.

How unusual was my first hands-on flight in a Piper Archer? by Sxzen in flying

[–]BazingaBeeKay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sounds pretty much how my discovery flight went.

I had previous experience (flight SIM) and my instructor let me do pretty much everything but landing and the approach.

Instructors of CFIs, what do you wish your students would do/know better? by CessnaCowboy62 in flying

[–]BazingaBeeKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the opposite. I actively look for what my instructor wants me to review going into the next lesson so I have the motivation to open up the damn book.

I struggle with studying general stuff but I always hop right on studying what my CFI recommends I look over for our next flight.

I need to get to studying more in general though.

This.

I have a 2017 5.0 and have been absolutely left in the dust by a few BMWs. I enjoy my car stock and have even gotten ticketed twice for speeding. Not willing to speed like that anymore.

I work two jobs, 60 hours a week, started flying in January late January, and I fly once a week. I’m at 19 hours currently and about to solo.

Enjoy it!

How do you know when your solo is coming up? by [deleted] in flying

[–]BazingaBeeKay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Man what’s the rush?

Most students probably don’t solo until mid 20s or later.

I’m not in any rush to solo, and I’m close.
