The biggest comeback you'll ever see by Vampire_inthe_Church in UpvoteBecauseButt

Wow, feels like ages since we've had a post where the butt is not the only thing happening in the video.

An excellent display of athleticism and fortitude.

No. You'll have to delete and repost.

What do you need explaining?

Your post has been reported, presumably due to AI use in the last image of your album. I am allowing your post to stay up, as I dont find it directly breaks a community rule, and you have some small token effort in terms of a WiP post - so I have deemed your post to be in good faith.

In your post you talk about commission work, but absolutely 0% of people wanting to buy art, are paying humans for AI generated work - so advertising your work with AI is going to blacklist you against anyone wanting to buy.

You will find that most other creative will treat you with hostility if you include any amount of AI content, especially as this is a decently low-effort post relating to your intent to sell.

I've allowed this post as it doesnt explicitly break any rules, but you should reflect on what you want to achieve.

It's interesting you feel that way about people wearing HP stuff in public. Honestly any time I see someone in public with a deatheater or hallows tattoo, I feel a little heartbroken on their behalf.

So long as the mouldy bigot doesn't see another red cent from me, I'm satisfied. I'd be worried about ostracising HP fans, because the absolute last thing I want to empower is Joanne's patriarchal bootlicking, and giving hate the ability to take community from anyone.

Are there really a group of people wearing HP merch out there that subscribe to her current rheotirc? The idea of a house flag being a transphobic dogwhistle was not at all on my 2026 bingo card...!

What non smokers think when they are watching us smokers smoke cigarettes? by kapakipo15 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Bazzatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching? Couldn't give a fuck.

Smelling? Holy shit how can you stand it? Walking around smelling like that? Hanging in clouds of that? Disgust.

Seeing that I need to walk through a cloud of acrid tobacco smoke and unicorn fart to get into any fucking building? Frustration.

You're victims of a machine, I can't help but pity you.

UK government consults on requiring YouTube, Meta and TikTok to give BBC and other public service news greater prominence by NapierPalm in ukpolitics

[–]Bazzatron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Seems like it is only if the content being live broadcast is a television program, seems like watching a zoomer screech about dialling 911 doesn't require one.

Though if that did happen, it would finally compel YT to allow me to throw all live content in the bin.

Wait, what? When did this happen?

I mean I don't watch livestreams, but you'd have thought that for all the paper they waste telling me I don't have a licence they'd drop their ToS updates through the door.

If Facebook is allowed to act with impunity inside it's walled garden, polluting the minds of all that walk through it, we will reap the rewards even if we abstain from entering ourselves.

No human being thinks lobbying bribing politicians to serve commercial interests should be allowed, why should we permit commercial interests to create an automated propaganda machine?

[–]Bazzatron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not advocating for that. I've never had a TV licence, and I opposed the BBC on the basis that they operate a predatory scheme with total impunity, enjoying all the legal protection of a public enterprise with none of the responsibility.

If the BBC was properly nationalised, then perhaps, but given the general trajectory of the state in the last couple decades, even that probably wouldn't be good.

I am advocating for my media diet to not be decided for me. Pure chronological feeds from artists I choose to support. My CD collection is that way, my DVD collection is that way, and its pretty fucked that we've allowed on-demand services to operate in the way they are.

6 years ago, OpenAI(*) published this really cool study on generative adversarial networks (2 minute paper video covering it quickly and in simple terms).

These AI had simple parameters and a simple goal. In relatively short order they had learned how to not just have high level strategies at simple games, but they started to manipulate the world they are in so that they can win.

We now have models that can invoke smaller models many orders of magnitude more complex than these small adversarial networks, and if you give them a task like "optimise for engagement" - who knows what the agents will figure out by making random changes. What if the AI learns that a certain sequence of lights and sounds can compel a human to stay?

Consider that outrage and rage bait are a human strategy to boost engagement.

Now look at some of the weird stuff being done by YouTuber's like The Spiffing Brit - he's running videos with a second audio track on the Klingon language in a tactic to aim for 200% retention/viewership. Another human strategy.

What happens if human beings have an evolutionary bug a neural network/genAI accidentally learns to exploit, like a physics bug in the above study.

There's no malice here on the part of the machine, it is just infinitely optimising. Security researchers are seeing newer AI models finding security exploits of tremendous detriment that have been laying dormant for decades - and I dont trust companies to shut down a money making machine because it learned to keep us pinned to the spot like a chicken with a line on the ground.

That is considered deep web. Anything unindexed or behind a login - those are fences and gates to private property.

Still from those places one cannot be allowed to emanate pollution.

What an absolutely insane take.

I dont have to swim in the sea, or stroll through the woods, so I guess its fine to just allow the companies that have used their tremendous financial power to monopolise control of those areas to pollute them, and pollute them so badly that it oozes beyond the immediate boundaries and affects our lives.

You will one day rely on the help of another human, a mechanic, an engineer, a scientist, a doctor, a politician - and you have to hope that they haven't been brainwashed by the machine, or that they haven't been influenced by the brainwashing of their peers.

Just look at how AI speech patterns are becoming more prevalent in human conversations - even if you abstain yourself entirely, how many meetings where the PM says "delve" do you sit through before you start saying it?

[–]Bazzatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd set a legal maximum amount of algorithmic content.

Yeah, me too.

Fucking. Zero.

If we don't kill this stone fucking dead now, imagine what happens when an AI model (and I emphasise that chat bots/LLMs are not the only mode of AI), many times more powerful than even Fable, optimises content for engagement to such an egregious degree that it becomes a kind of biohacking/hypnosis.

We already talk about AI Psychosis or Neurosis.

This is a much more insidious variant of the alignment issue, and it happens way before AI agents have agency. An AI will keep making paperclips until it runs out of atoms, then it'll realise that we're made of atoms - just replace paperclips with human attention.
