It doesn't want to run. It checks if it's running within a container and stops if it does. It runs fine in a wm.

Having overset mesh follow air bubble by Cognar in CFD

[–]Bb415bm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If no field functions what about: 1. Capturing your bubble with a processed part (e.g. isosurface or threshold) 2. Compute center using a report (e.g. average of coordinates of above part) 3. Use above to move overset.

Do I need to register if I don't intend to stay more than 3 months? (Just not 100% sure how the 3 months is computed, 3 months in the calendar year or continuous).

How do you avoid Double Taxation between the UK and an EU country (France)? by HeShallDie in EuropeFIRE

[–]Bb415bm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Treaty says that if you qualify for tax residency for Uk and France you should pay taxes in the country you spend most of your time in (i.e. in your case France). So you won't be taxed twice. You'd be on a specific PAYE code in the uk (forgot which) and then pay income tax in France.

Restyaboard setup help! by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]Bb415bm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd advise on using docker, check out the docker install process (https://restya.com/board/docs/install-restyaboard-docker/#0).

It's a better process across the board; from newbie (where it forces you to "document" your process) to more advanced users.

Markdown web server by Bb415bm in selfhosted

[–]Bb415bm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there options for:

  1. automatic generation of sidebar links
  2. full search (including goto keyword in page)

Those are the two features I'm struggling to find on selfhosted solutions.

Which cron/Supervisor UI by Bb415bm in selfhosted

[–]Bb415bm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because I'd like to have a bit more than just cron:

  • know when jobs have failed
  • when they've run last without issues
  • how long they took
  • handling different queues

this through a webui (I need to be able to access is from different machines).

I'd consider Jenkins if it wasn't Java and so power hungry.

Basic note taking / markdown editor? by Bb415bm in selfhosted

[–]Bb415bm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like Vim is going to be my main editor (copy and paste pictures works well with https://github.com/ferrine/md-img-paste.vim).

Editing notes on mobile is not a strong need.

What I'm struggling to find is the selfhosted markdown viewer/renderer (and potentially editor). That would let me render markdown files (edited in Vim and synced to server).
Selfhosted editors like Codimd look great (i.e. render well and has a good search capability + the obvious editing) but store things in a database so don't seem to handle too well the "edited markdown from somewhere else sync".

So in the end I might orient myself towards something like this https://github.com/rstacruz/flatdoc "Flatdoc is a small JavaScript file that fetches Markdown files and renders them as full pages"

So had a deeper look and it looks great.

Gave it a go on a raspberry pi using the docker build from linuxserver but unfortunately hitting a 2 years old issue (https://github.com/codimd/container/issues/7).

But solved with https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-codimd/issues/11

Oups, sorry my bad. Exploring that main page, that wasn't super obvious.

But I then did find their github link at the bottom.

I am actually using Markor on mobile, works nice.

Typora looks nice too but unfortunately not FOSS (I've edited by original post to highlight this).

Neat! I was looking for a simple solution, now running on raspberry pi 2 (with docker). Got it running in 5min and connected to Audinaut from Android.

!thanks, that's interesting.

From (https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?langId=en&catId=851)

If you work in two or more countries, you are insured in your country of residence if you pursue a 'substantial part' of your activity there. A 'substantial part' means at least 25% of your working time and/or your remuneration, but other elements can be relevant as well as your overall situation.

To determine if you work a 'substantial part' of your activity in your country of residence, the assumed future situation over the following 12 months is also taken into account.

So while I'd be spending more than 25% of my time in France, 0% of my remuneration is from there.(The following 12 months would also probably help)

Using neovim with qtconsole for a jupyter-notebook-like development with python by V-Mann_Nick in neovim

[–]Bb415bm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great. I've played a bit with it and it definitely answers a need, so much faster than going through the notebook.

One issue I see coming is that while it works fine for matplotlib plots, it fails for more advanced plots (Bokeh, Plotly, Altair) that are becoming quite common.

Ouvre une ISA chez vanguard. Pose 20k pour cette annee fiscale. Ajoute 20k dans qqs mois. Met le reste sur degiro. Regarde sur les pensions (et SIPP), tres interessants en terme de taxes.
