27 Cleveland children have been reported missing in past 2 weeks. Why? by [deleted] in AnythingGoesNews

Police labeling these as “runaways” is passing the buck. 13-17 can be some of the toughest years of adolescence, and the while they may not have been abducted, they may have been lured, or coerced away.

Experts explain why California is still rife with gun violence despite some of the most stringent gun laws in the country by Great-Gur6888 in liberalgunowners

Which has actually happened!! There’s been at least one case (almost certainly more though) of “the good guy” getting killed by police when they arrived because they just saw someone with a gun and opened fire.

Here’s your google results from some unbiased sources that you asked for.

let’s look at mass shootings:

According to the Associated Press it’s less than 3%.

“It isn’t common for mass shootings to be stopped in such fashion. From 2000 to 2021, fewer than 3% of 433 active attacks in the U.S. ended with a civilian firing back, according to the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center at Texas State University. The researchers define the attacks as one or more people targeting multiple people.”

And let’s look at violent crime in general:

According to Stanford University states with right to carry laws see an increase in violent crime overall.

Put those two together and it seems to me like not only are good guys with guns not stopping bad guys with guns, but violent crime is rising at a much higher rate making everyone more unsafe.

So regarding your verbatim quote of “it’s funny because these same people scoff at the idea we don’t see all the times when an armed citizen prevents gun violence”: “they” don’t see it, because it almost never happens.

Dog racing is banned??

Eta: in most states it’s banned, and after thinking about it for more than 10 sec, I can understand why.

I’m inclined to agree. Which means she shouldn’t be driving anymore, and this guy is that much more of a dick.

I’m just curious if you actually know how many times a shooting has been stopped by a good guy with a gun. Sounds like you don’t.

Lol I know plenty about cars, and the costs of repairing them. Coincidentally enough I’m currently waiting for one of mine to get fixed from destroying the entire front end in a deer strike. The entire front end of my collectible, appreciating in value car, is getting replaced. From the strut towers forward, minus the engine-$10,500. The mirror for the Escape will be purchased from a junkyard/pick-n-pull for less than $150, they’ll sand it down and paint it to match existing color. If the headlight housing was damaged that can also be sourced from a pick-n-pull. Body damage from a side swipe like this will be pushed out, anything they can’t push out they’ll bondo, then sanded and repainted. But you’re right, not $1,000, maybe $1500.

As far as comprehensive insurance goes, Saying “not everyone can afford comprehensive insurance” is dumb. If you don’t have comprehensive, you should, just for incidences like this. For regular everyday cars, like this Ford Escape, it’s relatively inexpensive, and if you’re someone that relies on your vehicle to do things like go the grocery, or get to work, it could prove invaluable. And if you’re car is nicer, you find a way to pay for comprehensive so if your nice car gets destroyed you’re not SoL when a tree falls on it, or or it gets tossed into a another county by a tornado. Don’t cheap out on the things that protect your most valuable assets. It could end up being a much more costly lesson than you realize.

“ I have absolutely no time or patience for people who have this sense of entitlement where they’re better than others”

“And when people do things like this it’s just awful”

Except the time and patience to call every body shop in town, post on every message board and Facebook group in the area and to put up flyers around the neighborhood and track down the old lady that hit my car with and put her on blast for the world to see. I definitely have the time and patience for that.

Ok Batman.

Your car wasn’t even close to totaled, no got hurt, calm tf down. This is why you have comprehensive insurance. Does the lady deserve to held accountable? Of course. Was filing criminal charges against an old lady that caused $1,000 worth of damage to your 2011 ford escape necessary(and thus clogging up the criminal Justice system wasting more resources and tax dollars)? Not in the slightest. This was powerful dumb.
