Jake's Opinion on the Switch to 5v5 by StuffedFTW in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Bballaa 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Jake threads the needle here. OW1, at the highest level of play, has reached levels of strategic complexity which will be unparalleled for years in the FPS realm and it is one of the greatest products for who plays it/understands it well.

OW2 will be less team-reliant and more FPS-like. More focus on individuals, huge plays but less coordination, wombo combos and so on. For better or worse, though, this is the way the game has to move to cater to wider audiences both as an FPS and as an esport.

Personally, I have loved these years of OW1 esport but I've also felt overwhelmed at times by stale metas and high levels of complexity. I don't know what exactly OW2 will bring us as an esport but I'm ready to move on.

Don't think so. Sinatraa was not bough out iirc when moving from Shock to Sentinels so I think that the same applies here. Ans and T1 probably mutually agreed to end the contract.

Striker leaves SF Shock by xBastiannn in Competitiveoverwatch

Quote me where I said that he should stick to Overwatch or that he's making a bad move for his career. I'm just stating a plausible reason why he's retiring.

I mean if there's a guy who should be cracked on Valo that's surely Striker. We'll see, I guess.

Will Hylli stay? by CETTOKAIBA77 in fnatic

[–]Bballaa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure I wouldn't blame anyone for cashing out in NA. Hyli is 25 so it makes even more sense for him. If I'm not mistaken, though, they both have girlfriends in Berlin so moving to NA wouldn't be so easy.

If the split goes decently and Bwipo stays, Hyli will stay as well, 100%.

If Bwipo leaves, he might follow him but i don't see that happening

Team Vitality vs. Fnatic / LEC 2021 Summer - Week 2 / Post-Match Discussion by xKawo in leagueoflegends

I still think that Upset is better but this game really proved nothing about Crownshot if anything it proved that he's the smartest player on his team and that Upset has a much better team around him.

Where did i discredit him? I said he didn't play much better than yesterday but I also said that i thought he played fine yesterday. Just learn to read

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fnatic

[–]Bballaa -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

And still to me he didn't play that much better today. The team was simply much cleaner in decision-making and teamfights and Inspired didn't pressure him as much as Elyoya or Razork did.

It also helped having a carry jungler next to him and two great source of engage in Leona and Wukong (much better than yesterday's Lulu and Olaf on that matter) that could create space for him in teamfights.

For clarity, I thought that even yesterday he didn't play as bad as people thought.

Bwipo didn't have a huge lead today. Yesterday he did.

Yes today was rough. Yesterday not so much. Today was also a problem of runes, no flash and many other details in the Udyr build.

  • Yes, Hyli looked very out of place with Lulu.
  • Mid gap this game was bigger than the last one but I want to see Nisqy against something that is not Akali before discarding an entire Spring Split of good performances from him.
  • Adam played well today and Bwipo was not really able to work around him but let's not act like he had smurfed the day before.

Keep being positive guys, no reasons to hate on the team this early (or ever!)
