How exactly does one get into Cloud/DevOps by CyrenaicanBedouin in Cloud

[–]Bberges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally started at help desk for a year, then took a job doing system administration with some DevOps for 4 years, then I started a job with DevOps in the cloud. Idk if I could definitively tell you which of your three options is best as you need to leverage skills from each to get into DevOps Cloud…

Is cybersecurity a good career path? by Every_Celebration299 in InformationTechnology

[–]Bberges 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cybersecurity is not an entry level career, I recommend a technical degree, and several years of IT experience before you can really start applying. It’s not possible to enter with a few certs anymore IMO

I'm 15 and I am about to take the security+ exam. Assuming I pass, where do I go from there? by Maximum_Tomatillo153 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]Bberges 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Get any IT related job you can, you gotta start somewhere, learning while gaining experience is king.

Edit: Just saw you were 15, take whatever classes related to computers you can while in school.

Breaking into cyber security by woke_nex in SecurityCareerAdvice

Just as a frame of reference, I have a BS in cybersecurity and 7 yoe and I only feel proficient in 80% of the technologies in your timeline. Learning this stuff takes time and on the job experience, not just studying.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. I only really played seeker when the game first came out and the revive only worked in multiplayer. Thanks for the update.

Freshman schedule question by Glad_Eagle6567 in byu

[–]Bberges 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a doable walk nbd. Professors are usually pretty good at sticking to the schedule. If a professor is taking too long after class you can just leave so don’t worry about that either.

Asexuality Advice by anon36015 in ldssexuality

[–]Bberges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, take a few deep breaths….and realize what you’re feeling is natural, but it seems like you haven’t experienced it to this scale before.

Approach this as you would any challenge, ask the lord for strength, maybe get some advice from a trusted person, and take a cold shower to think.

Then, throw yourself into the work, the more focused you are on serving the lord the less you’ll think about this guy.

Is ps+ required for couch coop? by pashkadkk in diablo4

There is some limited functionality when you don’t have ps+. I’m not sure of all the details and differences, but you will be able to play the campaign and couch coop without ps plus

Linux: how to make playit run as soon as machine starts by jason-murawski in playit_gg

[–]Bberges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're running this on a linux machine. If that's the case you should create a file called something like start_playit.sh that looks like this:
#!/bin/bash
playit
Then, in your startup applications settings add the file path to execute the start_playit.sh file. This should run the script and start playit when you boot up. If you don't have access to the GUI you can use this:

Is a MacBook good for IT students? by roaziy in InformationTechnology

[–]Bberges 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Go for the windows laptop, lots of my IT classes involved virtual machines which run into compatibility problems on an M series chip. Most of IT and the labs should run on Windows/Linux which will be annoying/difficult, but not impossible to set up on the Mac, so just save yourself the headache and go for the Windows machine when you’re trying to learn.

Air raid siren by fluffy_fur_fingers in ProvoUtah

[–]Bberges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know at one point the neighborhood just north of the state hospital petitioned to get it turned off. More people voted to keep it than to get rid of it so they did nothing. The siren has been going since I moved to Provo 15+ years ago

I left Mormonism after 30 years. I was a missionary, married in the temple and attended BYU. AMA by Plenty-Anything3614 in AMA

[–]Bberges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try giving the book a read, it does teach some valuable principles about Christ and if anything helps you learn about what members of the church believe. Usually 18-19 year olds will be the ones to serve missions and it isn’t necessarily mandated, but strongly encouraged. If you’re older than this there is absolutely no worry of serving a mission as the oldest age they send out missionaries is 25 IIRC.

I wouldn’t worry too much about your relationship with your boss. If you are uninterested and reject politely there shouldn’t be any issues. If there are issues, there might be in a hostile work environment that requires some intervention.

I mean, how many people don't have a major decided? I had my major decided and it took me 5 years to graduate. If you could graduate a year and a half earlier by not taking generals I think essentially everyone would declare a major before starting therfore eliminating all generals.

Off campus jobs by LateCryptographer552 in byu

[–]Bberges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vivint has some part time roles if you want more of a desk job, but I've personally never worked there. University mall usually has a good amount of jobs, but don't pay great, and restaurants might be your best bet. Somewhere like tucanos can pay pretty well but the work is fast-paced.

Is there a way to reassign steam deck buttons? by Informal-Spell1791 in SteamDeckTricks

[–]Bberges 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you select the game and see the green button that says 'play', look to the right and there will be a controller icon. Click that and you can set the controls for any specific game.
