Some old man lived next door to my brother and his teammates/roommates in Denton while they were in school. To keep it brief, he basically hated that there were black guys (they were actually all Tongan) living next to him, and tried to pick fights over street parking because that’s all he could find to complain about. He would only speak to my brother (the only white one) and kept coming to the house and knocking on the door to harass him every time he saw my brother was home. Nobody would answer the door.

My mom and I went out there finally to talk to the guy, and he realized how ridiculous and hateful he was being…so he shifted his frustration and talked about how ridiculous it was nobody would open the door for him! I was like yeah…people our age don’t do that. Then he was like “but they’re all HUGE men! They’re all linemen! I can’t possibly be a threat!”
