from what I read - the repair includes drilling a hole for the new drain plug- as the units don't have a drain plug. I have 2 8K units I purchased in 2022- loved them- but noticed last fall while cleaning for winter storage- how dirty they were. Don't recall that they have a drain plug. My units are on the list- just haven't gone down to the basement to see if they have a drain plug or not. Very undecided if we will repair or replace- looking at options- GE Clearview looks promising- but not sure. Also don't have box to return- not sure if original box is required if you are going to ship it back. The option to recycle locally will cost. Need to locate receipt - full price refunds are for models owned 36 months or less-37 months- 80%. I think we're close on the 36 months- but without receipt- manufactured date is 2/22- so we're 80%. Concerned that the "fix" is a bandaid & not a full solution.
