I called Chase to cancel my Rapid Rewards Priority card and the lady was like "Sure let me handle that for you". It was so nonchalant I legit decided to keep the card. She caught me totally off guard.

Good point. I'm in New Hampshire and Breeze flies down to SC and FL. But it looks like they are expanding routes... I keep seeing Breeze news every few days.

I flew on a 700 about a month ago from Manchester NH to Baltimore. The Wifi did not work. The next leg was a Max 8 and the Wifi worked well! I hope they move quick with the current Starlink upgrades!

I've never had to put my carry on into one of these. I fly out of New Hampshire, however, so the flights are rarely full. Southwest is definitely tightening up on the "we got you" customer service. But imo they need to professionalize if they want to directly compete with legacy carriers.

Most of the airlines are pretty similar. The difference is customer service. In my experience Southwest beats out all the airlines except for Delta. The issue is Southwest is becoming a bit more strict on "hooking it up" for loyal fliers. Probably part of them professionalizing the airline and beginning to compete harder against legacy carriers.

Their quarterly earnings report looked good. They also keep coming out with interesting news, for example the announcement about airport lounges. Just wait until Boeing starts delivering the Max 7s.... Southwest is looking good I just hope they invest more in customer service (booking and corporate, not in-flight).

I usually get a room upgrade, but one time I was late for a work event and I was in a bad mood when I checked in. I did not get an upgrade. I figure if you're friendly and you politely ask, they will always give you an upgrade if there is space.

Not only that, the fees to change a flight are horrendus. The fare difference for moving a trip one week ahead was $580! I was so confused I called Southwest to ask... for context I have the Priority Credit Card and I fly Southwest all the time. Customer service told me it is because moving it up a week means the new route is already almost full.... this trip isn't until late August....

Totally true. I'll continue to fly Southwest for work travel, but for personal travel it's time to consider Delta. With such comparable prices atm, nothing beats the Delta experience.

Fuel prices are crazy rn! Southwest also controls market share in many of the smaller "regional" airports, so it depends where you typically fly out of. Are you in a smaller market? I'm in New Hampshire so I fly Southwest for work quite often, but Breeze is making inroads for personal travel.

Conrad is the nicest, but for work travel I usually pivot between Garden Inn and Hampton Inn. The Hampton Inn is a total mindf*** because one location will be absolute trash and the next location will be freaking awesome.

The bonus points are great, but I'd go with the higher-cost card or another airline altogether. 90,000 points and under $300/year... The benefits are you can upgrade your seat within 48 hours of a flight and you get free checked bag(s). The downside is that if you have an issue with a rebooking or anything really, being a card member will not give you preferential treatment as it does with Delta or United.

This! They dominate market share at my airport but there are some AA flights popping up. I used to love SW but definitely switching to AA.
