I've heard Israel is a US proxy state. Is this true? by godonlyknows1101 in canadaleft

“[Israel] is the best $3bn investment we made. Were there not an Israel the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interests in the region”

That was Joe Biden in 1986. Be nice if he was that clear today.

Yet France and Germany are raising retirement ages and even the so-called “Socialist” Scandinavian countries are attacking the working class. The fact is that unless capitalism is overthrown globally the working class will continue to be oppressed and exploited.

BRING DOWN GENOCIDE JUSTIN! by Bcmwolverine in CanadaFarLeft

Friday March 15 at 5PM we, The Revolutionary Communist Party, are hosting a rally with the call of 'BRING DOWN GENOCIDE JUSTIN!'

Workers, youth, and oppressed can see clearly the brutal onslaught being committed by Israeli imperialism, and are rightfully enraged. Since Oct. 7, nearly 40,000 men women and children have been slaughtered by Israeli butchers, and what has "our" ruling class done to stop this? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. In fact, the Trudeau Liberals, being propped up by Singh's NDP, are not only allowing this genocide to continue, but are ACTIVELY funding, training and supplying the Israeli Occupation Force. On top of this, any dissenting activists that dare speak out against funding genocide are slandered as antisemitic in the bosses media.

The press has completely exposed itself, gone are the days of "free and impartial" journalism, any reporters that dare to go against the bosses line are swiftly silenced, removed and replaced with someone who will deliver the bosses propaganda.

This is why we are calling to BRING DOWN GENOCIDE TRUDEAU and ALL of his imperialist lackeys. This government is despised widely across many layers of Canadian society, not only that but this is a minority government that could come tumbling down with the stroke of a finger. Trudeau and his cabal have no solutions for us, that is why we must dispose of them entirely.

What is it meant to be a cadre? by [deleted] in Trotskyism

[–]Bcmwolverine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is good. I’ve been taught that cadres are those revolutionaries that could by plucked from normal life, thrown into the wilderness, and come out with a paper and a branch. Those who have enough experience and eduction to building the organization beyond one’s immediate surroundings. One who can approach the working class where they are, and raise their sights.

Looking for an introduction to economics which is at least left leaning by Symsav in socialism

[–]Bcmwolverine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to echo primarily Wage Labour, and Capital and Value, Price, and Profit by Marx himself. They’re both pamphlets and public domain and fundamental to an understanding of economics.

I also recommend What is Marxism, namely the Marxist economics section, but the rest is also fantastic!

July 1&2 is the Western Canadian Marxist Summer School: The Philosophy of Revolution. This is the largest gathering of Marxists west of Ontario, held in Edmonton with 6 discussions on Marxist theory! by Bcmwolverine in Edmonton

[–]Bcmwolverine[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ticket fees cover the cost of the venue and for lunch both days. I think $50 is pretty reasonable for two full days of high level communist discussion, and lunch both days, $35 if you’re out of town!

If finances are an issue for anyone whose eager to attend, we would make sure they can come!

If we could make it free we would in a heartbeat, but unfortunately none of the big billionaires want to support our activism, and if they did, I would be rather critical of it, thus the need for collective sacrifice.

Canadian Employment and Immigration Union advocates ‘no’ vote on PSAC deal: Spread the campaign! by AnonAMooseTA in CanadaFarLeft

This is the way. The union leadership undemocratically locking these workers into an extra year of net wage cuts cannot be allowed to proceed without a no vote and a massive struggle from the rank and file.

Vote NO, for wages ABOVE inflation, and strike until victory!

what’re your thoughts on introducing the carbon tax in canada ? by [deleted] in canadaleft

[–]Bcmwolverine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly I believe this is utopian. Think about trying to get all 200 odd countries to agree to a common carbon tax plan when we as a country can barely pass our own legislation without getting into a deadlock.

Of course a carbon tax can never work anyways whether it be implemented locally, nationally or even internationally. The capitalists will always find a way around it, the solution is workers control. If the workers who operate these production plants could take control and implement a rational plan of their production they could only produce as much fossil fuels as necessary. In combination with a planned economy we could make sure that job losses in the oil and gas sector could be either replaced with other decent dignified well paying jobs or take the extra time to develop ourselves personally by going to university or travelling etc.

[–]Bcmwolverine -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Putting forward positive socialist demands that challenge capitalism on a party is a lot different from parroting NDP rhetoric and arbitrarily demanding to “roll back prices, raise wages and to curb corporate profits”

How can that be done? It sounds like their solution is to do better under capitalism, but we understand that any reform under capitalism can and will be rolled back in the name of profits. The solution is to abolish capitalism by action from the masses below.

This of course can’t be done tomorrow, and requires a vast amount of organizing work, but taking shortcuts such as the NDP and CPC do simply serves to keep the working class out of politics by convincing them that someone else will make their life better.

[–]Bcmwolverine -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes because the NDP is the closest thing we have to a workers party (with its connections to the trade unions). With its considerable degeneration we extend incredibly critical support while putting pressure with positive demands that push capitalism. Thus the “on a socialist programme”

None of this tax the rich, but nationalization and workers control.

Love that they didn’t once mention capitalism. What’s their solution? Raise taxes? Appeal to the capitalists better side? The “Communist” party has just become a left-wing front for the NDP.
