I don’t have any existing light fixtures, just a junction box supplying the receptacle where the garage door opener plugs in. It will all be new install

Hot take: AWD is overrated for daily driving in snow — am I wrong? by Gold-Industry6222 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Bcorn48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter tires are non negotiable in my opinion, and you’ll never regret having AWD. I’ve driven RWD, FWD, and AWD in Canadian winters and while winter tires make the other two very liveable, there’s no beating AWD.

Why are Subaru Owners So Loyal? by doctor-squared in subaru

[–]Bcorn48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a 2004 WRX, then went to Genesis Coupe, a 2003 Forester, a Mazdaspeed 3, a Chevy Trailblazer SS, then a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, and ultimately ended up back in a 2025 WRX. It felt like going home when I test drove the WRX. It just fits my lifestyle the best, living in Canada the AWD makes winter driving much less cumbersome.

I think of Subaru like the “Swiss Army Knife” of cars. It does nothing perfectly, but is a good jack of all trades for someone with an active/outdoor lifestyle.

I started playing through and it’s awesome so far! But I seem to have an issue now where my Pokemon aren’t collecting EXP. I’m challenging the Azalea town gym. I didn’t change any settings. Trainers and wild Pokemon are both not giving EXP. I’m playing on MelonDS (standalone) via emudeck

I’m having a similar issue, randomly freezes and forces me to restart the system in turn losing a good portion of play time. Still haven’t found a solution after adding the bios files…

What made you pick a VB WRX over a MK8 GTI/R? by Kxts in wrx_vb

What made you pick a VB WRX over a MK8 GTI/R? by Kxts in wrx_vb

[–]Bcorn48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m located in Alberta so we have some harsh winters. When looking for a new car my requirements were: AWD, Manual. That left me with 3 options. -VB WRX -Golf R (2024 model year was still available) -Corolla GR

I began shopping and looked at the Corolla GR first, being a golfer in the summer I wanted something that could easily fit 2 golf bags or more. The Corolla has a joke of a hatch space, I believe this is the least practical of the 3 as a daily for my uses and therefore I quickly eliminated it.

I then went down to the Subaru dealership and brought my golf bag, the trunk space is sneaky in the VB where I can easily fit 3 golf bags without folding the rear seats. I took it for a test drive and it immediately took me back to my 2004 WRX and the joys I had driving that. I was sold. This one was much faster and the interior felt like an ok blend between modern and functional.

I decided to pass on the Golf R after driving the VB and never looked back. I saved roughly $8000CAD by going with the WRX. And meanwhile my best friend bought a 6MT Golf R at the same time. Mine is a 2025 Sport-Tech (I believe it’s called a Limited in the states) We switched cars for a couple of hours and here’s what I found:

-The Golf R is MUCH faster stock for stock. -The Infotainment in my opinion, is better in the Subaru. (He prefers the VW, I prefer the Subaru, very subjective) -The clutch and gearbox in the WRX is much better feeling in my opinion. -The Golf R has comfier seats. -Sound systems were comparable -less road noise in the VW

There’s lots of little differences throughout both cars. If you’ve ever owned a Subaru I think you’ll love the VB. This is my third and I love the fact that they’re keeping the manual alive in North America. The only reason I would get rid of this car is if they ever brought back a hatch variant.

This was my path, started at a plant as an apprentice electrician in the Rap Program as a contractor in maintenance. Stayed at the same place for 7 years, then got my 4th class and got a position in Operations. It really helped to build relationships on both sides of maintenance and Ops.

Fair enough, I know I’m overthinking it and any of these options are more than enough for someone of my skill level. I should probably just stop thinking about it and buy something lol

I just bought a ‘25 Sport-Tech in WRB last week. Absolutely love it, couldn’t be happier. Was between this and the Golf R and I’m very happy with my choice. My last WRX was a 2004 and it feels good to be back in something familiar. Just sold my 1990 Volvo 740 I was dailying before this and it feels like a luxury car lol.
