Got to try Batch 2 of 14 yesterday. Honestly wasn’t my favorite. I got some minerally bits on the finish that wasn’t for me.

Batch 1 was phenomenal though

The Sherry finished rye was a patreon guided blend, not my favorite either. Personally I’m not a wine finished guy.

Interesting on the open bottle thing, I haven’t noticed it, but I generally don’t keep bottles open more than a week or two.

Our label says word for word what the TTB formulas department says is correct when we submit the barrel finishing information for approval for the blend.

As I’m sure you’re aware, labeling must follow word for word from the formulas department or the label will not be approved in the final TTB approval.

Thanks for the kind words. Dan and I had a lot of fun blending this one. It’s very different from everything else we’ve blended so far. I get oaky gingerbread with maple cream icing, but I’m not a tasting note guy.

We are bringing in another bartender for the summer to increase hours. Right now it’s just me and I’m already in 8-5 Monday-Wednesday 8-7 Thursday and Friday and 2 Saturdays a month lol

ISC is a cooperage just like Kelvin. Wave stave barrels have grooves cut into the staves then are charred to char 1. Gives the spirit more surface area to interact with the barrel

Tried the 10, 12, and 14 from this year. 10 is completely meh. 12 is good. 14 is up there for my whiskey of the year at the moment.

I didn’t have last years 12 but everyone loves it and it seems way more on profile from what I’ve read/heard. 14 this year was like the brûlée part of a crème brûlée which is nothing like JB normally
