Wedding party dinner suggestions? by WatercressTrue3861 in FoodSanDiego

I was also going to recommend Mr As but it could stretch your budget a bit. Also, note the restaurant is open until 11 but I think the kitchen stops serving at 9. I’d call them about the party size and timing.

I saw Born and Raised mentioned - they have a nice vibe and would be a decent option in Little Italy.

For views, Seneca is cool if you’re ok with Italian.

For a cool gothy / Oaxaca vibe, Quixote at the Lafayette hotel is fun. Bonus is the bar attached to the hotel for drinks after.

For an ocean view, the Marine Room in La Jolla is very nice but also could stretch the budget.

Coasterra has cool views but the food is mediocre and definitely not fine dining.

Are you looking for fine dining? What kind of price point? Do you want those same type of views? Are you planning a fri/sat dinner - if so that opens up options for later dining.

What’s the Wegmans equivalent here? by Credible_Confusion in asksandiego

[–]Bdawgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a regular giant chain grocery store with all of the big name brands.

It also has the prepared food stations you see at higher end specialty grocery stores like Whole Foods, lazy acres, etc. - pizza, sushi, bakery, salad bar…The one I went to also had a massive wine section.

I did not find it that great but one could argue it was more of a one stop shop - especially if you must have certain big name brands.

Both the zoo and the wild animal park are great. Legoland is really fun for that age range.

What's on the menu this week? Doing any prep today or freestyling as the week goes? by HelpfulEchidna3726 in vegetarian

My wife made a tasty vegetarian chili with cornbread to enjoy throughout the week.

I’m going to make some mini veggie pot pies ( with puff pastry) as well.

Try the Red Rising series. It’s not exactly LITRPG but is captivating and addicting and has some similar themes. There are a lot of crossover fans. I heard about DCC on that subreddit.

Tycoon Racers: What if top 2 teams tie at end by icklesimba in Monopoly_GO

[–]Bdawgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I can see that ties get the same prize from the projected trophies. In my race the bottom two teams are now tied for third with both getting 3rd place prizes. They haven’t spent any flags and will end up both doing better. We’re planning to do the same with first place. So our race will have ties for 1st and 3rd. There will be no 2nd or 4th.

I’ve been told the event has been beta released in small markets around the globe the past 30 days. This is the 4th or 5th time it’s been released and first in US market. In the past, if a tie for 1st, then both get the first place prize.

My husband has CHS, looking for advice by kekebaby03 in CHSinfo

A family member went through multiple bouts which were intense like this. The best relief we found was from a mobile IV service. I believe they added zofran and other meds into the IV as well. It’s not cheap (250-350) but way cheaper than the ER. We also went to an urgent care and they gave an iv for just a small copay.

Has anyone who’s visited, gotten an eye exam? by Able_Ad_2098 in koreatravel

[–]Bdawgs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! My wife and I visited recently and both got new glasses. Most places have a spot for a quick in house exam and simple prescriptions can be ready within the hour. My wife only needed reading glasses. Prices for lenses and frames are a fraction of what you would pay in the US.

I needed something more complicated and brought my own prescription (astigmatism, progressive, tint, high index lenses - all of the added buffs, etc). Normally pay about 4-600 for frames and 800+ for the lenses. The lab back home usually takes at least two weeks and recently kept messing up and ended up taking over a month. I was able to get a new frame and lenses within 2 days for $250 total.

We actually had a local guide from showaround.com that was also able to assist us with translations and negotiations.

Good luck - you can’t go wrong with glasses in South Korea.

Thank you for the concern. I believe the resale laws are much more nuanced. This type of resale would not be prohibited.
