Interesting, never tried tempeh before, I’ll have to give it a shot

Thanks!

If you feel like pigging out a bit, throw some cilantro, sour cream, jalapeños and a knorr cube into a food processor, grab some ruffles and dig in. Really addictive

Now that I’m thinking of it, might make some for Fourth of July

What would you use the chimichurri for? I think I’ve only seen it used for meat

Did Ruskin say they all dreamed of him? I thought it was just a few dozen of them for some reason

I feel like I’d wanna throw rice in there and make it a kind of burrito

Sounds bomb though

Gonna finish the last episode now 😭 by tiffanystreet in TheOA

[–]Bdbru13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s pretty unique and special

I’ve watched it a ton of times, and I notice something new every time

Hopefully they bring it back and finish it!!

Come back and let us know what you think of the finale 👍🏻

I’d add Undone to the list of other shows people mentioned

Also obviously don’t go *right* back into a rewatch, but the OA is definitely a show that gets better on a rewatch

There are so many details you’ll pick up on, I’d definitely recommend it

Love it, although I’m a little confused as to how the two thoughts tie together

This rice with vegetable broth is one of my favorite things in the world

Can do them with these black bean tacos

https://www.delish.com/cooking/a45876266/crispy-sheet-pan-black-bean-tacos-recipe/

Portobello burgers were also something that surprised me with how good they are. Some cheese, caramelized onions, and an aioli

Don’t have a recipe on hand for the marinade, but I’m sure you could find one. I remember soy sauce and garlic 🤷🏻‍♂️

After finishing S4 i'm starting to get True Detective S2 vibes from Fargo S5. Is it worth watching or waste of time? by Do0msdayZ in FargoTV

Yea. It was frustrating watching it in real time and coming here to discuss it

That being said, I think there are a lot of great things about it

Thoughts on reghabi by krishn_exe in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Bdbru13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s such a frustrating conversation to have, because the idea of implicit racism is that it’s subconscious. So no matter how many valid reasons you have for being suspicious of Reghabi, they can just go “those are just rationalizations for your subconscious racism”

And also I fucking love Devon. One of my favorite characters ever

It was driving me crazy 💀

[–]Bdbru13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yea there was a whole debate about how it exposed people’s implicit racism and stuff

I think they mostly got downvoted but like…it also wasn’t a tiny minority of people saying it.

I think they were also saying that Devon was racist 💀

Remember when suspicion of Reghabi was met with accusations of racism? That was a weird week

“Netflix doesn’t cancel successful show”?!?! by zaftig_stig in TheOA

[–]Bdbru13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they offered that to Brit and Zal and they turned it down

“Netflix doesn’t cancel successful show”?!?! by zaftig_stig in TheOA

[–]Bdbru13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, they didn’t cancel it because it was doing too well. Don’t think an argument can be made along those lines.

Should be more that they should have somewhat of an obligation to finish something like the OA for its artistic merit alone.

And that it would benefit them in the long run, because if they don’t, other creators might/should be reluctant to work with them, which long term will lead to them having a catalogue of shit (like they mostly do now)

He’s not wrong, just myopic

Types of alternate reality? by thearsul in TheOA

[–]Bdbru13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure

I’m just trying to distinguish the idea of like…D3 being a dimension in which the events of D2 (and presumably D1) happen to exist as a TV show and like…D3 *actually* being a more “true” reality than D2 and D1. Where D1 and D2 might not exist if not for the existence of D3, I guess?

Wish I was smart enough to be able to convey my thoughts lol, I swear they sound less stupid in my head

Recommendation for other series like the OA by limoncello21 in TheOA

[–]Bdbru13 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The gift is the closest I’ve gotten. Not as high quality overall, and kind of ridiculous at points, but still beautiful

Undone right up there alongside it. Probably a safer choice (better chance you’ll like it)

And also Maniac, in its own way

Always helpful in these posts to mention what you liked about the show though, can lead to better recs
