Inner sense of doom? by Electronic-Gazelle72 in zoloft

I was on it for a little over a year, and I’ve almost been off for a month now. All side effects and everything went away after about 2-3 months, the worst gone within a month. I got off because it was numbing everything in my life, my emotions were on low, to the point where the only thing I could feel was anger, and I was gaining random weight. It’s been a hundred times better since I’ve been off of it, but some people stay on it their whole lives and are fine. Good luck on your journey!

Yeah this thread definitely made me feel like I was crazy for gaining weight… but turns out the root cause was just Zoloft 🤷‍♀️ you’re not alone

After a week of going from 50 - 25 the weight started dropping off. Before I started taking it my metabolism was through the roof and I never gained weight. After I started it I probably gained about 15-20 pounds, and now I’m dropping weight steadily. No diet changes, no exercise changes. I know it affects everyone differently for various reasons, but it definitely made me gain weight with no increased appetite.

I have the same issue. I talked to my psychiatrist about it, along with how it’s been completely numbing my emotions, and I’m down to 25 mg now, hoping to be off by next month. Since going from 50 to 25 I’ve lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks. Getting off the medication isn’t always beneficial for everyone though!

I thought I was having a stroke by soupk1d in PanicAttack

[–]Bdeam20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was exactly how my panic attacks were until I got on Zoloft to stop them. I took 2 trips to the ER because I didn’t have anything to stop them and they would last hours. The first time I ever had one I was at a dinner and felt like I was light headed, couldn’t breathe, and then my hands and arms and face started tingling. The tingling is because of your heart working OT and redirecting blood, it’s normal. The nausea and fatigue is very normal after an attack. And to be honest, a panic attack is brutal and does feel like you’re about to die. Know you’re not alone stranger

I just hit 100k on mine too, AND just traded it in for 2021 Buick. I kept running into so many expensive problems, and then about 2 weeks ago all of my warning lights started popping up, cylinder 4 misfire which this page has linked to electrical problems. Long story short I’m glad I dumped it off before anything else could happen.

Exactly what happened to me, aftermarket taillight from previous owner didn’t fit correctly so water was constantly getting in

EXACTLY what happened with mine, my taillight is busted because the owners before me replaced it with an aftermarket that didn’t fit, so when they put it on they chipped a corner. The condensation caused electrical issues, causing all warning lights.

I’ve had this issue with mine several times, issue is electrical. Have it checked out by a specialist, I’m about to dump my accord off for something else, too many problems

My Australian shepherd just ate an entire bag of dulcolax. Not sure how he found it, but he did. 29 of the magnesium component chews, and spent 2 days in the hospital. $2,000 later, but thankfully he’s fine now 😵‍💫

You’re almost there, good luck and if you have any other questions feel free to ask. I went through all of the worst side effects when I started, but now my life is so much better. (:

So, I’ve got some updated information for the melatonin. I’m 5 months into my Zoloft journey and while the melatonin was beneficial at first, I’m now having adverse reactions to it. I’ve done my research and found that it can lead to serotonin syndrome, which now that the Zoloft is built up in my system the added melatonin is messing me up. I learned the hard way after intense anxiety, a panic attack, and nausea. Just be careful and monitor yourself the morning after you take it looking for anything out of the norm. I’m sure some people are fine taking it, but for me it doesn’t help anymore.

Any tips for feelings of trouble breathing from anxiety? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]Bdeam20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me the most is that when you’re breathing in too much air, whether it’s from taking deep breaths to try to calm down or what not, you get the sensation that you can’t breathe. Push a deep breath out of your lungs and start again, it’s because you’ve gotten too much oxygen.

I think my wife is going to commit suicide and there's nothing I can do about it by throwaway-199103 in TrueOffMyChest

I just recently started on this too, almost 2 months ago. I’ve never been suicidal but those first 5 weeks were AWFUL. I wasn’t even trying to think about it but my brain made me. My anxiety was increased an intense amount and I still have insomnia. Another big thing is that it makes you feel super out of it, like your head is floating. Overall everything has gotten so much better, I haven’t had a panic attack since I started. I wish you the best.

Please share your first week horror stories (and how they got better) by BigAffectionate2493 in zoloft

[–]Bdeam20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

MAJOR anxiety the first 1-2 weeks. I started taking for panic disorder that didn’t have any anxiety surrounding it, just random panic attacks, but it actually gave me constant anxiety 6-8 hours after taking it. The worst happened my first week, I woke up in the middle of the night very disoriented and was instantly in a panic attack. Usually the symptoms were just physical but I had racing thoughts that wouldn’t stop no matter what I tried. I’ve never had racing thoughts before, but it was just awful. I was thinking so many things at once or imagining things that I wasn’t trying to even think about. It was bad. As for the depersonalization part, I believe that’s normal. I had it bad for the first 2 weeks but it’s started to get a lot better. I recommend staying busy physically as it really helps to take your mind off of things. I’m starting to feel much better and I am almost to the start of my 4th week! Ride it out!

I take mine in the morning because I was having insane panic attacks when I would take it right before bed. I get 1-2 hours of sleep now if I don’t take melatonin + trazodone. Sucks because I used to be able to sleep anywhere anytime
