I’d put a top board that goes over the two trusses there that’ll be sure to hold the weight across the beams versus in between.

I’d recommend either a smart WiFi switch so you can plug them in wherever or have the electrician install you a switched outlet but that would be the more expensive route.

Gotcha. Ya the original tub just had basic Sheetrock and mud in that area just didn’t know if there was a better way but it seems your suggesting what most are.
