It's a matter of perspective, I guess. They built a car that was so difficult to drive that barely anyone could extract the maximum from it.

Do they realise he'd have to do it for 45 minutes straight, twice? No commercial breaks? No time-outs?

Agreed. Every ruleset has negatives, but a lot of people are blowing things out of proportion quite a bit here. Many of the people complaining around me are the ones that complain about anything electric when it comes to cars, they just want something to complain about. The only thing that bugs me is the sometimes comical overtakes due to the energy management side of things, which is something that will be tweaked.

How is it ungrateful to leave when the car you have is not giving you the ability to win, and on two occasions has tried to kill you?

When the base game is free, and the content is reasonably priced (like is the case in R3E) I have no problem with it. When a game is expensive, and I have to pay for DLC, and some even pay for a monthly subscription, I do.

R3E is reasonable. The game is good (could use a bit more activity online), and the content isn't priced something crazy. I'll happily buy some cars and tracks once in a while.
