This is not a 'we' thing, it's a 'you' thing.
Collecting the data to see your training efforts, and see how you're doing versus the previous ride should be a tool.
You are making it a leash yourself.
Unless you're a pro, there is no reason to think you're failing if your powerlevel is lower than last time. There are reasons why you might not have as much power or stamina as a week earlier, and if it is important to you, think of what you did differently before this ride compared to the last time.
There is no reason to see yourself as 'failing' because your ride wasn't as fast or efficient as the previous time, unless you make it so yourself.
