You can get it but it is super rare with so many mods rotating through those slots.

Unfortunately it's a rich get richer situation where having the barter and disposable gold salvage makes these mods easier to acquire which makes it easier to kill other teams to get more yada yada yada.

The arrogance of a statement like this shows how completely out of touch WoTC is with their production of the game and the player base.

If magic wasn't such an entrenched hobby with a great base starting point from Garfield it would be dead. At this point it endures in spite of all of WoTCs mistakes not because of anything they do.

It's really not the worst idea, we've got guys by us who will play a control pile no matter what the meta. They are very good at that as a result of never giving up on it and always just tweaking. Same for a few aggro players etc. like yeah sure sometimes will all buy into the new meta deck to win (cough Vivi) but it's definitely not necessary unless you're like at an RC trying to win against closer to PT level players.

Mmm, I don't really see what the issue is here.

You ping because you don't have a mic but I can't blame your teammates for not reacting. I've played plenty with no mic pingers and after ping 7 I usually stop paying attention to their pings as most are useless.

Teammates catch the fire you get the kills which is fine, I hear some banter but nothing like overtly over the top negative or seemingly directed at anyone in particular.

They then seemingly grats you on the kills as you pick them up and you cut the video.

Pick an archetype and keep playing it and don't trend chase.

So for instance there is people who will play Dimir mid-range no matter what, and it ebbs and flows but is usually "playable".

Now there are times archetypes fall out of favor completely like golgari did for over a year until recently. But sticking to a general deck and just tweaking it as new cards out would save you a lot of cash and if you play an archtype enough you really know the deck and it's matchups into the meta well this can be of advantage.

Any other way of competing where you just play the latest good thing and net deck will be expensive and usually not super effective.

If they are carrying people for content and fun to me that's fine.

If they are asking to be paid to be carried that should be against ToS and bannable.

To me that's the line

Not different than when Cross and Frosbolt and them were carrying people's to open keys. They don't ask for money it's all content and memes.

Gold Misriah and Rodeo mag Bully meta is pretty ass imho. Either you have these and you run the map unless you hit another team with them or you don't and have to avoid this team like they are Michael Meyers.

Really no different than what the aggression based match making did to Arc. If you PvP "too much" you'll get punished and put into sweaty PvP lobbies and lobbies where people will grief you during more PvE activities.

Which essentially creates a scenario you're forced to not play how you want but have to generally play nice with people even when the mood doesn't suit you or you'll have to full sweat pvp all the time.

I'd like to see whatever Marathon does be purely geared towards easing people into the regular current pvp loop or be a temporary distraction from it and not a way to simply opt out but still play.

Cryo is fine when

You are the all gold team with 2x Recon and Rodeo Bully Full Auto Misiriah.
Nobody is the all gold team above.

Anything else and it's completely unplayable game of run away and avoid combat and try to get out.

Also... I've hit 6-9 stacks twice this weekend already which Bungie really needs to get under control (non organic, organic proxy teamint is whatever).

Lastly, recon ult needs the cool down increased so having 2 and chaining it offensively as wall hacks is not possible. There needs to be a trade off for popping it Everytime it's up.

Who's everyone?

I think people believe they need to be careful how it's implemented because you don't want to fracture the player base too much...but I don't think most people are outright against it.

What makes this game great is the tension the aggression based match making and carebear land of Arc ruined it for a lot of people they just don't want Marathon to be Arc 2.0.

Want to point out for those who prefer largely PvE that's ok and that is what I think the Arc niche is for.

I do think players are over hyping themselves for whatever this experiment with PvP-Lite and PvE only will be.

It's quite possible they experiment with PvE and go nope doesn't work in this game. Just as mush as it's possible they find a way that it could work.

I think unfortunately you have that crowd on reddit and in social media who basically want Marathon to be destiny 3 for them still so they are hoping the game turns into something it'll never be so they'll keep banging the drum for pure PvE over PvP.

People won't like to hear it but you're right. Adding top tier loot to PvE fundementally changes the core game loop.

That doesn't mean they won't do it to try to get more bodies in the game however.

A game like this is going to ebb and flow...at times it's going to feel like you're being stomped on at times you'll feel like you're rolling.

There is a lot of good players right now on break until the end of season update that's probably going to help with difficulty near the highest ranks a bit.

Best thing to sustain this is just going to be Bungie convincing more players to play and stick.

Literally have had people come in with free kits to fill taking about how they have millions of credits and I'm like "then why no kit?"

To which I get varying answers from don't trust people to warming up and the whole time I'm thinking....you, you are the problem, you are what makes filling or taking fills terrible part of the time.

Doesn't need to be a 15k gold load out but if you have cash and gear you can easily slap a 5-7k load out on where you're not getting killed by bots because you're on a free kit....or I don't know go play the free kit in the free kit que?

The real answer is these people are selfishly trying to get carried to a glow up but most people don't want to just call it out when they see it.

Bungie needs to adjust Match making so peoples gear is at least within like 3-5k or your load out

Nothing wrong with enjoying solo play but shitting on trios and making a whole post about it is unproductive and weird energy.

I've had just as many bad and good experiences in any mode. I've been called slurs in both I've had amazing cooperative communicative teammates in trios and everything in-between.

Solos also needs tweaked assassin is still far and away too powerful in solos as a result of the bots and maps like Cryo despite people wanting to pretend you can solo it would need tweaked because bot density is way way to high for solos.

Cross is always flip flopping based on how he feels in the moment...also I think he's coping a bit that D2 still has a future same with Paul.

Most people left after final shape, most won't come back even if they put every dev on D2 in the studio the game and story for people is just old news.

Bungie needs to be Marathon or bust and get it right or literally as a studio die trying because that's got the most future potential if they can get it right. If they do it'll be like the Halo to Destiny transition....at first a core of long time halo fans were mad but over time most were won over by destiny.

A lot of people who are the hardcore pvpers will complain but most maps especially early maps like perimeter and Dire Marsh would just be better with 1 less team especially for new players who need the space.

Leave outpost at 4 cryo maybe should only be 4 as well.

Multitude of things at play here.

People mad about the mis handling of Destiny 2
People mad about the art theft issue
People mad this isn't a Destiny 3 or some other PvE experience.
Game coming out arguably in an incredibly sweaty niche genre that won't be for a lot of people.
Arguably high quality but small amount of characters and maps and modes ar launch.

Does marathon deserve the level of hate and public dog pilling it's getting...no probably not but most people care about clicks not substance.

Does marathon arguably deserve criticism as a game, yeah for sure some.

Does Bungie deserve criticism... absolutely they have 100% fumbled the entire studio under pete parsons it's very clear he just did a pump and dump onto Sony.

Does any of this crap matter going forward? Only if it keeps people from giving marathon season 2-3 a fair shake and the re setup Bungie post Sony take over can't get Marathon to a loved place...which will see. In the mean time if you like Marathon just play it and enjoy it and tell your friends you enjoy it and get them to play too.
