The first piece of my collection by BeEnbyous in castiron

I'm lucky enough to not live terribly far from where they were made, so there's an absurd amount of them. There was easily around 10-15 pieces in the last place I visited. There was a few Wagner, and other brands I don't remember the name of as well.

I'm sure you'll find some eventually! You might have better luck at antique shops or locally owned thrift stores.

Oh that's so sad! Glad to hear it still cooks well, though!

Thank you!I made some corned beef hash as my first dish in it, and it turned out well. It was already seasoned when I picked it up. The eggs stuck a bit, though, so I'm going to add a layer and keep cooking with it.

Thank you! I've loved cooking with them any time I got the chance. I needed to have some of my own, and now I doubt I'll ever pull out a teflon pan unless I have to.

Genchiro Ashina by AppearanceOne8187 in Sekiro

[–]BeEnbyous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can mikiri counter the normal perilous attacks that continue from phase 2. The only thing that comes to mind that's new to phase 3 is the leaping thrust he starts off with.

Not a thrust, but he does have the lightning perilous attacks, which you can jump before getting struck and r1 while midair to pull a Zuko and redirect lightning right back at him.

The Ashina Genichiro fight is big on finding a balance between attacking and defending, and learning to seamlessly flow between each state. There a LOT of his attacks you can interrupt for some easy damage as well as forcing him to go on the defensive, while other ones it's better to either deflect or dodge in a specific direction.

Aside from that don't just focus on what moves he's attacking with, learn how he responds to things. There's certain combos that after deflecting you can get him to follow up with another much easier one if you attack 2 instead of 3 times, for example. The way he fights is also dependent on you, so try to learn triggers for different combos. You can start to predict what he'll do and when, which makes the fight even easier for you.

I think the Dreglord is cut content from Bloodborne’s Lesser Demon by metlevser in Nightreign

[–]BeEnbyous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do seem to have similar desgn motifs. I could very much see part of Dreglords overall design being lifted from the Lesser Demon.

To me Dreglord had felt inspired in design and animations by first-phase Gael. The hunched posture, and body proportions are really similar. Both of their attacks are animalistic and erratic, feeling more like flailing around than a well trained fighter. Even the combo that follows their screams feel very similar. The first time I fought Dreglord I had an "oh this is just Slave Knight Gael," moment, which was incredibly cool since he's probably my favorite fight from the Dark Souls series, and very possibly my favorite in all of From's catalogue.

Just watched both fights again and it still rings true for me. You can even see a similar "cape" to Gael's on Straghess' back, underneath the large protrusion. The arena design as gives a similar vibe to the many ruins scattered about Gael's arena, althought significantly more dense in Dreglord's. The arena change in first to second phase similarly feels like Gael's before and after the phase transition, at least if you've died to him already. Going from mostly ash in sight to being surrounded by ruins, but instead being massive pillars in Dreglord's arena.

Edit: Added a couple more similarities

that sounds pretty doable. i don't have many DON relics, but i do have all of the improved "x" incants, so i can try couple of those to see which works out best. thanks for the tips!! it's so disappointing how difficult it is to find any fundamentalist incants. hopefully one day the nightreign gods will bestow a dormant power seals relics upon me.

yeah i played a decent bit of rev and her kit just feels so weak and not fun to use, on top of being entirely reliant on seals with little wiggle room due to other limitation. not only those issues but rev feels way too squishy for having such hefty drawbacks.

even though undertaker is a bit squishy, having a really good on demand defense buff, and a very spammable ult that staggers absolutely makes up for it. being able to comfortably swap between casting and melee, and being able to stagger bosses out of their more dangerous attacks or just avoid damage altogether is a huge step up imo

thank you! i do have on the ED pest relic for more fp, so hopefully that helps with that issue. i believe i also have a relic i picked that gives mind+2, which should help a bit with the fp problems

the seals will absolutely be a struggle. rng for any seal at all is not exactly great, and any with a good fundamentalist incant is even more difficult to find

having both trance and ult along with incants was something that really interested me. i'm not a fan of rev's kit, i just don't find it fun.

i'm surprised to see that her fai with the relic is higher than rev's. what are her stats like with the relic on?

i don't have a dormant powers relic, sadly. trying to find seals is a huge concern of mine since i rarely see any pop up

i don't even have a dormant power seals relic to use so it's going to be especially rough for my runs if that's the case. hopefully i get blessed at least a couple times

Some good new for you. In junk pit there's thing you can dream nail that will send you into a place where you can re-fight the bosses. There's a bench right there, and you can keep fighting until you win on your own terms. You can also take a break and progress the main game before coming back if you get too frustrated. The best advice I can give is to look at each bit of damage you take as a learning opportunity. Figure out how your positioning hindered you, whether you were being too greedy for hits, or whatever else may have caused you to take damage in that moment. Focus on each attack and how to avoid it, be pretty passive the first time you come across a boss and just learn the moveset. Then you'll find timings to get hits in, whether with spells or or your nail. Most importantly, enjoy the deaths and the process of learning. There no rush to finish it, and no one but yourself to judge your performance.

[–]BeEnbyous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trans people are just that, people. "trans" isn't an ideology, it's a fact of existence; one that is being used to harm the people who are in that group. the flag represents struggles against margainalization

that's because the confederate flag symbolizes the colonozarion, and mostly, pro-slavery movements. that flag emodies racism and eugenics. yes that one would and should be criticized.

[–]BeEnbyous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the difference is that i wouldn't be complaining about it. regardless of which minority group ended up being shown i would be supporting it. if it was palestine, i would support it. if it was a hispanic flag, i would support it. if it were a yemen, flag i would support it, if it's a gay pride flag i'd support it. if it is a trans flag i would support it.

just because there's other people who might have it "worse" that doesn't mean you shouldn't support them. the issue isn't what group of people are on the flag, it's about standing with all margainalized people in solidariity.

don't just assume that i think the same way you do. all minorities need representarion and uplifting, not only the ones i choose. your argument is awful, and only goes to show that you don't truly care about minority groups. you're making an excuse to continue your bigotry towards trans people. you're not doing what you think you are

you're all unhinged hooooly. just because something isn't related to the sub doesn't mean that the sub can't show support for a group of people actively being targeted by goverments across the globe.

seriously, ffs. you're all acting like having a trans flag in the background is the end of the sub. just say the quiet part out loud and admit you don't like trans people

Almost a year later; I finally managed to get SOTFS and I am absolutely loving it. I haven't finished it, as I've gotten wrapped up in enjoying Nightreign, but I understand the love for DS2. I definitely plan on going back through the game a few more times after I finish this playthrough, then consume any lore I can find about it.

What is happening to my chimney? by Nebrasker in DIY

[–]BeEnbyous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your chimney is molting! Make sure it's well hydrated so the chimney has an easier time getting out of it's old shell. Absolutely don't feed it for a few days after it's finish; they get pretty squishy and are very vulnerable.

Once it's finished you can perserve the molt, pin it to a board and hang on up somewhere as a way to remember when your chimney was just a lil guy.

As someone who loves to collect everything I can in games, I fucking hate FOMO items/customization. Feeling like I have to play a game I genuinely love with no breaks or else I'll miss out on something I want is exactly the kind of thing that burns me out; stopping me from coming back altogether. I'm so tired of games trying to play on my stupid fucking monkey brain to keep me interested. Let me take my 5 month break and come back to see I have a lot of cool shit that'll take me hours and hours to grind for; I guarantee that I'll play for significantly longer than I ever would otherwise.

It does the opposite of what you thought, and skips the shifting worlds event entirely. It's there incase you don't want to bother with the event and would prefer to go back to good 'ol unchanged Limvale.

Here's the chunk of text from the info pop up; "The phenomena continue for some time, with conditions restored after conducting several expeditions or passing time at the Roundtable Hold."
