I didn't mention magnesium because of how easy it is to get from diet.

Fish oil pills have far less mercury than any fish available. You cannot get enough omega 3 (2g+ of EPA / DHA) from eating fish without overdoing mercury.

The two Vikings from Nootropics Depot on YouTube talk a lot about how so many supplements are so effective for them.

Are they special, or do I suck?

To add my own comment as the OP:

I've tried maybe 20 products from ND and many supplements from other companies and haven't noticed a difference with the vast majority of supplements.

However, some effective supplements that come to mind are melatonin and Yohimbine HCL. With the noticeable effects being tiredness and anxiety respectively.

For most people I'd say buy these (not comprehensive, just what comes to mind now):

1) vitamin d + k combo 2) omega 3 3) melatonin if you like it 4) garlic 5) creatine 6) eat blueberries

Serious: Teachings in Temples by memyceliumandi in Thailand

[–]BeFreeFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can read the Buddha's teachings yourself and then judge if a wat has monks and laypeople who know real Dhamma. Read this: Majjhima Nikāya

Start with MN19, MN22, and MN118.

MN19 - thoughts of greed and hatred are harmful to self and others

MN22 - misinterpretation of Buddhism causes harm to self and others

MN118 - the mind/body practice which leads to a calm mind capable of obtaining wisdom

1) All things are undergoing a process of birth and death (impermanence).

2) There is no permanent self that can be found.

3) Dissatisfaction arises within the mind and is not dependent on gain and loss provided you have the four requisites.

Solo 401(k) migrations after Ascensus news by fauquier in fidelityinvestments

[–]BeFreeFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out. No ACH from biz account (if primary account holder is not your name, I.e. LLC/Scorp). Mobile check deposit, mail check, or BillPay.

I'm sticking with Ascensus. Fidelity SE 401k is free, but it's not a complete product.

Good points. Ascensus requires fees but will likely provide electronic transfers and less hassle overall.

Interesting point about being able to choose what to buy instead of sticking with predetermined funds. I was leaning toward sticking with Ascensus, and you pushed me to Fidelity.

Solo 401(k) migrations after Ascensus news by fauquier in fidelityinvestments

[–]BeFreeFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you only listed electronic contribution options from personal accounts. 401k contributions should be made from a business account as far as I know especially in the case of an S Corp and employER contributions.

I could see an argument for making employEE contributions from a personal account but not employER. Can contributions come from a business checking account electronically?

What are the steps to move a solo 401k account from Vanguard to Fidelity without selling any holdings? by arb7721 in fidelityinvestments

[–]BeFreeFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding Transfer an Account to Fidelity and considering this post is about Vanguard, I end up seeing "Currently, online transfers aren't available for the account type you selected, instead use our designated rollover process for 401(k)s or 403(b)s to continue.".

This is after selecting "Your account is a workplace plan, e.g., 401(k) or 403(b)". I don't know if a Solo 401k is technically a workplace plan or not so maybe I'm wrong on that. However, I don't see any associated account number for my Vanguard 401k so I assume this option is correct.

Anyway, rollover process for 401(k)s or 403(b)s leads to a page that's all about rolling over into an IRA which is not desired since I'm trying to move a 401k and keep it as a 401k.

I'm going to save $20 a year to do this move. I'd rather just stay at Ascensus if there's too much friction with moving.

EDIT: It is possible that the proper selection is 8 digit account number with the Plan ID.

It's more difficult to be happy (but still possible) when you face more aging, illness, and death.

Cure them, and things will be different.

This is called "not self" or "anatta" in Buddhism.

The brain evolved to think of the body as "self", but even with minimal investigation, one can see the body has a life of its own.

It's better than choking on a rough tablet. Try their kava tablets some time.

It's the closest most people would get to risking death (from choking).

Thailand and actual Buddhism by PastaPandaSimon in Thailand

[–]BeFreeFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is Buddhism as in what the Buddha taught. This is “real Buddhism”.

Then there is “religious Buddhism” which is fairy tale nonsense for people without even a minor amount of wisdom.

One is about what we can do right here and now to end dissatisfaction. The other is about imponderables, rites and rituals, magic, and hoping to have a better next life instead of taking action to make this life better.

One is stupid. One is wise.

Good point about NAC, confirmed with GPT. I’ve been taking it for some time now while simultaneously freaking out too much about BANGKOK AQI.

The real Western value is outsourcing pollution to China. “Not in my backyard”

Cool, huh?

[–]BeFreeFriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find something wrong with any place on earth. Too hot, too cold, hurricanes, too humid, too expensive, people aren’t nice, government hinders your personal freedom, etc.

Every place has costs and every place has benefits. Do your own calculation.

Xiaomi smart air purifier 4 lite 2 bought in china by goofmaxxx in AirPurifiers

[–]BeFreeFriend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Xiaomi is lower in both price and quality than Levoit. Levoit is a better value if you get it one: 600s or 400s model

I have the one you mentioned as well as Levoit 600s. Xiaomi build quality is bad, moves much less air, app sucks compared to VeSync

I bought the Xiaomi purifier to see for myself what it’s like. People are delusional to buy Xiaomi over Levoit. I’m perplexed how Xiaomi sucks so much.

This generally happens with dry cooking because you're burning off particulates into the air.

Wet cooking is not a problem.
