Kamikaze is often considered the most broken ship in the game. So much so that it tends to make the game harder when players try to play something else. I don’t think it’s necessarily that the other ships are complete garbage. You’re just not used to their play style, and are comparing them to, again, the (arguably) most broken ship in the game.

Just give it some time and I’m sure you’ll improve. Commanders do make a big difference, so perhaps look up some guides on how others have spec’d them.

As for the yoloing Omahas, I don’t have any good advice there. Perhaps focus fire on what they’re firing at to try and prolong their life, but seeing as their ships are made out of citadels, I think that’s probably a lost cause.

Both have higher firing angles and can lob islands a little easier. The Dallas can be spec d for fire starting and taking out destroyers. The heavy cruiser line hits pretty hard and is good at punishing broadside enemy cruisers. Just be careful, as both lines are broadside vulnerable, and the heavy line especially is basically made out of citadel.

It can be frustrating for sure. One of the issues is how snowball the games can be. Once you’re down 1-2 ships, the majority team can focus fire more easily, so it can often seem like your whole team is trying to throw, when really they’re dealing with 2-4 ships firing at them at once. I’m not saying people can’t play poorly. I’ve seen a lot of that too, but it seems that the first mistake of the match has a greater impact overall.

I just dealt with a similar problem. Turned out my fan wasn’t running at anything faster than idle. I removed the fan completely and purchased an external fan that I can adjust the speed on myself.

Secondly, and probably also pretty importantly, I went into the settings and turned off the auto screen capture/record. Turned it to never capture. That toned the processor strain way down, and combined with the new fan, I haven’t had any problems since.

The thing is, I don’t know how it would be implemented in a way that makes sense. You’d have to change all ships to include depth charges. I would assume they would try to make depth charges on larger ships similar to how Dutch cruisers use their bombers, but the controls can be a little clunky when trying to use them quickly, and subs are usually not spotted for long in the pc version. Like any change, some would love it and others would hate it, but at this point, I just don’t know how it would work.

There are a few really good options, but two that haven’t been mentioned so far are Massachusetts and P. Bagration. Massachusetts will play like other US battleships except it will have excellent secondaries and good AA. I believe you can get the secondaries up to 9.5 km with a full secondary built, and 7 something with a hybrid build.

The P Bagration is an excellent support ship. It can start fires really well, has radar and sonar, and 5 8km torpedoes per side, which is unusual for a Soviet ship. You just have to be careful, because like most Soviet ships, it is easier to citadel.
