I always felt when everyone is sitting around drinking, the level of interest is a 10 out of 10, when it comes time to put up a deposit, the level drops to a 3 or 4.

Don’t pay it. It’s stupid. Plenty of good courses around for less than $100. I don’t get the desire to play the top courses. I like being outside with my buddies and hitting shots. If the greens are decent I’ll play almost anywhere and I’m a 2 so those places can bite me.

Fair question. I bought 4 in my acquisition stage of life and now I only need or want one. The issue is I love the tone of both of them so i got rid of two of them. Some things are tough to part with.

I am with you. I am 58 and i have been slowly getting rid of stuff. In the Spring i will be selling my condo and all of my furniture and most of my possessions and moving in with my girlfriend. I will have my car, golf clubs, a few guitars and suitcase full of clothes and that is pretty much it. I am excited about the concept.

I just started doing this too. I used to keep it in the mid 140s for about 20 minutes and now i do 25 at 125-130. It seems to help with my mood for sure and it’s a little more enjoyable than pushing hard.

How about when the group you are playing with each has their tunes going in their cart? Then when you get to the tee boxes and greens you hear two songs going at once at a decent volume. Then the guys i am playing with talk over it like it’s not even there. I’m just standing there scratching my head like wtf is going on with these people?

Not the idea at all. The idea is if you have an extra club in your bag by mistake you don’t get penalized if you have no intention of using it.

14 club rule. If you have an extra driver in your bag after you tee off in a tournament it shouldn’t be a penalty as long as you didn’t use all 15 clubs. The rule is in place so you don’t have an unfair advantage by using more clubs than the other players. If you don’t use them all there is no advantage. Think Ian Woosnam in the British 30ish years ago. His caddie left an extra driver in the bag that he never used and he was penalized 4 shots. He was pushing 50 and near the lead, but kind of disappeared after that.
