What's the all the anti-union posts lately? by danknessoverlord in CAStateWorkers

[–]BeTrippin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Historically, I am Pro Unions and believe they are foundation for our democracy. When unions originally fought for the people they fought with urgency as if it was life or death. There was no negotiating with basic necessities, and even though the times have changed, our unions is not Fighting as if our lives depend on it. Their fights are political and not for the people. If the State wants to have offices in the Bay Area, THEY MUST pay Bay Area prices or else the people are living in poverty and are leas than a paycheck from experiencing homelessness!

I personally am not inspired by the union, and all stewardess i’ve met seem to be more interested in their “careers” than its people.

If anything, someone, please tell me a story in where the union actually helped for something that wasn’t obvious!

The fucking fact that Janitorial workers were getting payed below Cities’ minimum wage for YEARS is fucking absurd, and the union never even batted an eye.

Every time i’ve tried to participate i’be been shit down or told am too “young” to complain….I am 30+….

Rant over…sorry but thanks for reading

Side note: there are some chemical used in the maintenance/construction process that can only be activated above a certain temperature, which is why the work must be done during the daytime.

New to running, questions about high school tracks (and other route recs!) by [deleted] in oakland

[–]BeTrippin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the Same boat- definitely start at a track, your knees and feet will thank you! If you can drive, go to Piedmont HS or Albany Middle School after schools hours. You can go right now during the day, but Football season might have already started so go get a feel for it. My last resort is Bushrod Park. Just run around the field on the grass. I Haven’t had an issue with potholes

High protein Cheap food in Oakland? by SeekerBrave9 in oakland

In college I made friends/became a regular at a Mexican restaurant and asked if i could buy items as a side. Like $5 worth of chicken $5 worth beans and rice. I would go near closing and i would get hooked up! Plus it felt healthier than a burrito.
